Thought we could use a thread to consider head coaching candidates for next season. I don't think Drew will be asked to return.
There's been a lot of talk about bringing in a fresh college coach. One of the hottest college coaches is not too far away. He's Nate Oats from the University of Buffalo. He's not afraid to speak his mind, and obviously he's good teaching kids.
Here's an article about him.

Bring in a Romulan who's claim to fame is killing it on the floor at a baptist college and beating the crap out of the Akron Zips?

Stan is a good coach but his histrionics get old very quickly and guys just tune him out and he tends to want power over roster construction and is awful at talent evaluations. Plus he dumped on Cleveland on a radio show when discussing the Odell trade, the producer told him to tread lightly or he wouldn't get a look from Cleveland and he replied hopefully it guarantees he never ends up here or something like that. Yeah I don't think there would be any mutual interest there.

Anyway, here are some interesting candidates who have excellent reputations around the league:

  • Becky Hammon, San Antonio Spurs assistant coach
  • Chris Finch, New Orleans assistant coach
  • Ime Udoka, San Antonio Spurs assistant coach
  • Jerry Stackhouse, Memphis Grizzlies assistant coach
  • Chris Fleming, Brooklyn Nets assistant coach
  • Nate Tibbets, Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach
  • David Vanterpool, Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach
  • Stephen Silas, Dallas Mavericks assistant coach

Let's think outside the box

Bob Krizancic, Babe Kwasniak, Dru Joyce, Dave Close, Tim Debevec, Mark Kinsley, Sonny Johnson, Chet Mason

There's my short list

:chuckle:

Are we trading for LeBron James?

Stackhouse is out, as a rule we cant hire coaches younger than me or I remember them playing in Highschool.

Is it time for us to cycle through another Mike Brown era?
