I've been pissed this dude plays the same 8 9 guys only. It's the regular season, should be going 11 deep. If you can't win without running Mitchell into the ground then you ain't shit
Good God. He played 10 of the 12 healthy players on the roster tonight. 9 of them played 14 or more minutes. Who would Coach letgocavs have used tonight? Isiah Mobley or Lamar Stevens?

Geesh.

If not for somehow collapsing a 7 point lead with under two minutes left in regulation the minutes would have looked a lot better too.

It’s not like we were going to bench Donovan in overtime. We’re down our best two PG’s, Mitchell’s going to have to cover the minutes until at least one is back.

FIFY. It was a big and fast collapse.

He had again a few issues.

Evaluating JBB has very little to do with winning this game or the last one. His first mistake is ofcourse starting Okoro again, which proved to be wrong again. Starting him in the 2nd half after watching his mistake unfold, is another one.

He had a few others like subbing in Mitchell way too early when we had a comfortable lead and good control on the floor with 2:40 to go in the 3rd. That lead to Mitchell overexerting himself and being totally fatigued late in the fourth and heading into OT His shot was off as a result. JBB loves to play his top guys too long without rest and Don had to play 20 minutes to close the game on a 2nd night of a b2b! It wasn't necessary. And it shows a lot about his coaching. Mitchell started missing because he was dead tired. Simple as that. Just want him to see the bigger picture sometimes.

Then ofcourse his late subs... continually subbing out players that work in combo like Dean Wade for example for head scratching subs for no good reason. He was also too late subbing in Love when we were up 15.. we needed to push the pedal to the metal, but I guess having Okoro in there is much more important.. he had to lock Beal, right?

JBB has a lot of warts and the wins don't mask that. We almost lost the game because of him. Because his superstar was too damn fatigued(cause he is playing his heart out on both ends) , non ideal lineup combinations and late timeouts.

I'm super relieved that the Cavs won this game. But if his habit of running his stars into the ground continues this season when we are this deep then he is insane. Cavs can not burn Mitchell this early. Just no.

Garland did a carry job last season and now it's Mitchell until Garland is back...masking all of his mistakes to some fans.

JB clearly has personal issues with Okoro. He is the basketball version of a wayward son. He keeps throwing him out there hoping the wayward son starts getting his career together. But he is just enabling him to continue crappy play.

8-10 mpg max.

If only we had a better coach or he give some coaching duties to some of his assistants. He's a great leader but subpart coach right now.

I'm just happy we havent had a 5 second violation or turnover on an inbounding play yet. We had to be the worst in the league at this last season. I've noticed that they bring Allen up to where the inbounder is to give an option to throw it over the defender. It may not put us in the best strategic position, but at least it's not an instant turnover.

So.. umm there's an improvement from last year!

For sure. Not a turnover is a win. The ATO plays drawn up are still atrocious. Haha. Also, I always have issues when I see a team go on a huge run against us and we take a timeout but come back with the same lineup. I think his hardheaded coaching is what's keeping us back. Because an average coach can win with this squad IMO.

The team is winning though...and without their 2nd best player.

People cry about him starting Okoro, but are quiet when he rides a lineup of 5 that includes Wade and Cedi that is playing well to close out the game in OT.

This is ridiculous to me, the amount of hate this guy gets. Hardest thing to do as a coach of a young team is to get the group to buy in. He's done that and then some. The offensive system and their actions look significantly improved with more wrinkles on their plays, which tells me he is either delegating to his staff like people want or is working on what people think he needs to improve on.

It is unreal that after a road/home back-to-back where the team won both games missing it's All-Star PG the posts in this thread are about firing this guy.

Just a different level of hate.

Mike Brown could probably coach this roster to 50 wins though
Here's a thought I had last night: how would Ty Lue work with this team? I think he'd do very well indeed.
