I think when the Cavs run their offense, they look great. It's when they have a lead and they freelance, it goes downhill fast.

Not protecting the ball is the #1 issue right now I would say. That doesn't have a lot to do with JB. It's not even bad passes, it is just as much of not more bad dribbling, trying to outdribble defenders.

Donovan isn't nearly so dynamic when he isn't playmaking. Him driving and kicking while picking his spots worked much better than just taking shots off the dribble.

Too much Hero ball from all 3 guards. Need to get more people involved and get your roleplayers involved.

I also don't know if this is just a Cavs thing but we sure throw some stupid passes. Difficult passes into traffic that don't obviously lead to a scoring opportunity. Not the time to throw high risk passes.

You don’t see any problems with our offense That could possibly relate to coaching? We should be blowing out teams like the Hornets, not barely beating them in double ot

Most of those other 26 teams don’t have 3.5 allstars.
The problem with our offense is fundamentally the result of 4-5 defenders in the paint which is fundamentally the result of the fact that Garland and Mitchell being the only two starters who can shoot from the outside. Having that many defenders in the paint will result in turnovers as you have that many guys swiping at the ball and closing off passing lanes.

The only coaching issue I'm seeing related to turnovers is the inability to recognize when teams are overplaying passing lanes and countering it. But pump faking the pass to get the defender to bite, and take himself out of position, isn't necessarily something pro guards should have to be coached to do.

Some of this is the natural result of incorporating Garland and Mitchell into an offense with two skilled big men. There were always going to be bumps in the road. There were bumps in the road when we put together the LBJ, Kyrie, and Love team.

But one of the reasons I was less than plussed about the Mitchell trade was because we had to give up Lauri and Agbaji, in addition to all that draft capital, and spacing was an issue going back to last season. I was happy to get Mitchell, but we left ourselves with the same roster flaw as last season and very limited means of addressing it.

This is how you draw up an inbounds play, JB could never :chuckle:

the only time I can remember he did anything close was that one "super late in the shot clock" inbounds to Tacko intended for him to get fouled (and Tacko was fouled, predictably)

After JB was absolutely endlessly harping in the defensive effort for the last several games, the defense the Cavs played in that second quarter tonight was complete shutdown.

The guys were flying around and giving full effort. Major props to JB for hopefully getting his point across.

Must have been one hell of a half time speech. Sure Allen went out but coach Bud once again running circles around JB. lmfao

We look great when Garland and Mitchel go crazy hitting wild shots. But when they get tired we blow big leads, happening too many times this season

When you have a 10 point quarter at this level, it's almost all the coaches fault if they didn't adjust. If you consistently come out flat in 3rd... Also coaches fault. What a mess he is right now, something changed with him after he won that junkyard dog award.

Not having Love, Stevens, and LeVert hurt a lot when the Bucks cranked up the intensity. Having to run Okoro and Lopez together for too many minutes killed us. I'd like to have seen more Cedi, Neto, and Diakite minutes.

That caused a chain reaction where the Bucks were able to heavily focus defensively on Mitchell, Garland and Mobley, and the Bucks are elite at being able to put maximum pressure on even the best offensive players. The pressure showed on even Donovan Mitchell who has seen and handled it all, Garland who is no stranger to defensive pressure... but it really bothered Mobley who still doesn't have his offensive game completely figured out.

This will be a pretty good learning experience for everyone, but especially Mobley.

I'm sure JBB could learn some things from this game but I'm not convinced that he will.

Why the fuck did Okoro start? I’m so sick of this mediocre coach and his obsession with this god awful basketball player. Kobe grow some balls move on from this fraud

LeVert start and no bench, Lopez start and mismatch from the start.

We were really limmitted on options

Not only did he start though he got more minutes then Cedi and Levert, also nobody can convince me Okoro is a better player then Neto

We also had no options at back up power forward and center, so by that logic let’s start Rolo and Isaiah because we need Mobley and Wade for scoring off the bench. And then let’s start Neto.

As bad as Cedi and Levert can be they 100x the player Okoro is
