Joint/Foot Pain

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tingling in the feet sounds like peripheral neuropathy, which I have.. can be related to diabetes, so check your blood sugars.. I have adult onset (type 2). If you feel thirsty a lot...

Another possibility is you have a high toxin level.. some people don't eliminate certain toxins well. Vitamin B helps this, but some genotype ( especially from Scandinavia) don't absorb B well. You should be drinking a ton of water, since you have increased excercise and are heavy on protein.. Also antioxidants like cherry juice and pomegranite, but not a lot.. like a cup a day at most..

I also take a multivitamin and glucosamine and I think it helps joints. Yoga also helps.

About your feet. If you have lost weight, you may have reduced the fat pads in your feet.. this happens with age anyway..

I am against Nax, but I have Meloxicam, which I take occasionally especially after a hard excercise.. ibuprofen straight up also works, but not every day..

At the end of the day , my body hurts more as I age. That's a reality.. but keep moving somehow.. less impact is better, and less weight is better.. think cycling or spinning and elliptical.. See you chiro regularly and stretch a lot more..

Not a doctor either, a couple of suggestions, though.

Glucosamine helps with joints. Also D2/K3.

As others mentioned, check your blood sugar (and A1c level). Berberine (and metformin) helps with that.

also, curious, what kind of salad dressing do you use, does your salad have any protein, and what is your late night snack? A snack before bedtime can be counterproductive.

Usually use a fat free vinaigrette, croutons, and some shredded cheese for the salads. Late night snack varies but some pretzels, cheese, or crackers are common choices.

A friend tossed out the possibility of rheumatoid arthritis based on symptoms...not sure if anyone has any experience with that?

Also, if you have plantar fasciitis, stretch your feet really well each morning before you get up.

This is key.

Had this, may still have it somewhat and before stretching I am hobbling around the house like an 80 year old.

I also indulge in an epsom salt hot foot bath at times followed by stretching. Eases the aches.

don't fall for the myth that fat free is better, fat helps cause carbs to be absorbed slower, and usually fat-free means fat is replaced by more carbs.

For salads, I personally either user Newmans Own Oil and Vinegar dressing or replace the dressing entirely with some Pico and Avocado.

And I try to avoid late night snacks, but if I do have one, I try to avoid anything with many carbs. Late night is probably the worst time to eat carbs.

Keep trying to find out what's going on, but continuing to tweak your diet can potentially help too. If nothing else, it can help prevent more problems down the road.

Icepaks whenever you can. 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. On bad days, ace wrap that ice pack and climb in a hot shower. Don't know if it will work for you, but it does me wonders. Aleve and Ibuprofen for me hurts my gut from when I use to eat about 10 combined to get through my day. Ice your knees too on occasion, they may be irritated, but unnoticed if your feet are bad, might just give you some extra relief.

For my plantar fasciitis, looser fitting footwear. Allowing room for my feet to swell during a long day. And the arch inserts? Get the ones you can strap under or over your socks. Doctor said I'll always have it, sometimes I'll never notice and sometimes "I'll know"

If you have gout, your diet needs more fatty foods. Less greens. And I believe I had to limit seafood as well? I begged my doctor for years recheck my acid levels. After 4 years, my blood tests showed lowered acidic levels. Gout is more or less a "specific athritis" that is to define the feet and hand areas. It's arthritis to me. We're all different. Mines from up and down weight battles the past 10 years and a career in construction. I've managed to find ways to manage the pain without prescription pills. But I am seriously considering the "weed card" due to knowing people who have self medicated their entire lives and are able to enjoy themselves with managed pain who are 20+ years older than me

An update:

Had a back x-ray and bloodwork done today - x-ray to look at the L5 nerve potentially causing issues and bloodwork to look at things like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, etc.
