I think someone tweeted when he actually gives a F about his team he is a different player and person on the court and in the locker room.
 
I know some people don't like him but I think J.R. is a really nice fit on this team.

Smith is really underrated as a passer and can definitely play reserve minutes at the point.

His AST per 100 possessions this season is 7.0, the highest of his career.

He can play both the 1 and 2, which should help minimize Delly's minutes, which was necessary IMO.

I think getting out of the trash heap that is NYK will really rejuvenate him. Guess we'll see.
 
I like the timing of this deal. Let's face it, with LeBron out for a while, and maybe Kyrie too, the coming stretch against the West is more than likely to result in a lot of garbage time. Best time to get these guys up to speed and familiar with the organization in preparation for when the Cavs can realistically think about winning games again.

That's assuming he picks up his player option, which makes the most sense for JR.
Hmmm, I think they really wanted that first rounder so that they could still use the 2015 pick and Memphis with those expirings.

LeBron doesn't want Blatt. JR and LeBron are tight. Cavs trade for JR. Can anyone guess how this will play out...?

I think we can be 100% sure that JR accepts that player option.
