I’m loving Love this season. He’s instant offense off the bench. The fact that he’s still a great rebounder is also a plus. He’s a black hole on D but so is Lauri.

Everyone assumes after Love's contract is up he will sign on elsewhere at the vet min or other lesser amount with a contender, but he seems comfortable in Cleveland, and that contender could be the Cavs.

Actually his gf lives in NYC and Love has a house in Tribeca. I am not saying this means he is a Net or a Knick in the future, but from what i can tell he has 2 homes, one in NYC and one in Breatenahl.

Yes Love is from out West and went to college in LA and can often be found there in the offseason, but i cant find a home he owns out there.

Who knows what Love does in 1.5 years. Retire, sign on for another year in Cleveland, move east, move west. Who knows. I am just glad he is contributing and playing hard.

Love is likely here until his contract expires. There is no motivation on his part to give away money to be bought out, and there is no motivation on the Cavs side to pay him off just to go away. No one else wants that contract coupled with that health history so he’s not a trade option for anyone. We are looking more and more like his best bet to get paid and play for a good team. There just isn’t much reason for him to move.

On our end, I’m sure the Cavs assume he’s going to get hurt and miss games, but are hoping that his body holds out long enough that we keep getting production from him when he can play. This is also why we just about have to keep Wade (who is Love light in many ways) around. He’s going to be needed at the backup 4 on and off over the next 2 years and he’s dirt cheap.

I'd be surprised if Love didn't stick with the franchise in some capacity after his contract is over. Whether it be extending his contract (at around 10% of his current salary), staying on with the coaching staff (player development? Assistant coach?), or front office (mental health advocate?).

I thought he was a west coast guy until i did some digging. He only has the other house in NYC, which isnt far for people who can afford chartered private jets, and his house in Cleveland is huge and beautiful and he spends time there in the offseason too.

I agree he likes Cleveland and could be a long term part time resident. But, he is engaged now to his gf and she does live and work in NYC, so who knows, but I think Love's long term plan is NYC where he has a very nice place too.

I am not one of the people that hated Love for not giving up money, and actually really like the fact he was brave enough to bring up mental health and its importance as I have 2 kids with depression and an ex wife. It is a horrible ailment and its about time we realize its more than just being "mentally tough" and to "get over it". Its like "getting over" a broken leg.

Looks to me like Kevin’s having a blast playing 20 mpg and with such a good group of young guns. I think what he’s being asked to do perfectly fits his personality as a complementary player, and he has shown those who have forgotten that he’s a very good basketball player.

I don’t want to trade him. If we get a great offer that adds talent then by all means do it, but he’s a definite asset on the court and his contract is not onerous as we have plenty of cheap contracts due to the team’s youth.

His best BB option once this contract runs out might be to sign here for less and ride with our good team.

I‘m happy for him as it would have been rotten to leave here on a bad note after the Championship. Good to see at least one of the Big 3 still performing for us.

Until the recent turn of events in Portland I really thought he would go home but by the time his contract is up here the Blazers will be in full blown rebuild mode!

I dont see any motivation for him to go home even if Portland was good. he hasnt lived there since childhood. College in LA, Minny and Cleveland for play. Has a house In Cleveland, Fiancee in NYV along with a house there, and he is seen sometimes in LA.

I just dont see any Portland connection anymore. But who knows, i sure dont, only Kevin and maybe some people close to him like finacee really know his intentions.

It was just a season or so ago that Channing Frye was pushing the Kevin Love to Portland narrative.

Love lights up old team.

New Kevin Love also had a brisk night.

I was one of those that wanted Kevin Love gone, *almost* by any means, before this year started. With the hissy fits and tantrums of the last couple years, I didn't want him anywhere near Evan Mobley. He has turned into an actual asset this year, though. He's now not only an elite influence on the young guys but also an asset on the court. As mentioned above, let him play out the contract, then see about extending him (at about 10% of this current salary) if he wants to stay. Hopefully we can keep Ricky, too.

I would have liked to see JB go to him over Cedi when Maark was pulled for being horrendous tonight in the 4th. Cedi did fine but why not lean on the old man from time to time.
