No need to be so angry lol. Love is a better defender than people think. He has excellent positional awareness and gets in places ahead of the offense. He is old and creaky so I dont expect him to chase wings and guards around screens but this is what the drop scheme is for. But anyway, ... Wade getting a few spot mins is probably fine but he is a major drain on offense momentum. You cant have him out there without Mobley or Garland to carry the offensive load since he puts such little pressure when compared to K Love
Nailed it. FTR I'm only in favor of cutting Loves minutes as required to keep him at his peak ability as much as possible. I think he's coming into a dangerous part of the season for an older guy with KLove's injury history so JBB should be careful with his minutes, then carefully ramp them back up as the season moves towards playoff time. If he's feeling it then let him have his big games, but when he's struggling in any way give the other guys some burn.

Wade is a viable defensive substitute but he's got his head up his ass offensively until he proves different. Windler is actually solid in a lot of aspects and I want to see his minutes go up with him being ordered to shoot, shoot, shoot when he gets any open looks.

Lauri is a relatively young guy so I can see KLF's point about being more interchangeable with him and Love, and not so much with them on the floor together.

Your post was questionable. The response from @foucault87 contained zero personal attacks against you, just pointed out flaws in your post. There's absolutely no reason to go 100% personal attack on his response. I thought he showed tremendous restraint.
Yeah, he jumped the rails a bit. Lashing out after being called the site's "analog to Kevin Pangos" in another thread I bet.

Didn't read that thread today. In general, I hate posts that "die on a hill" against measurable facts... but I hate personal attacks more.

As always, if you are being attacked personally without attacking others, let staff know.

Not really disagreeing with any of this. But Love had another poor game against OKC. We don't have a lot of options, but leaning on Kevin isn't an option at all right now.

You have no information whatsoever that Wade or Windler are under orders not to shoot.

You just make things up and present them as facts.

JBB is not going to give Wade or Windler minutes at Love’s expense because Love is a far better player.
Under orders not to shoot? Who said anything like that?

Love is taking 17 shots per 36. It's pretty obvious that no other bench guy has that kind of green light. That is what I meant.

If you quote me, quote me. Don't twist my words around.

Your exact quote: “Neither Windler nor Wade are allowed to do that.”

“It’s pretty obvious that no other bench guy has that kind of green light.”

LOL, as if you know what JBB has told his players.

I know. You don't even seem to read my posts so why bother responding?

For the fucking millionth time, I'm not looking to trade Love, remove him from the rotation, or even bench him for any length of time. ALL I'm asking is MAYBE some modest playing time for Wade, who's like 10 times the defender Love is at this stage and can also hit a 3pt shot.

LOL. Are you fucking serious?? Just more proof that you don't even read my posts. GTFO...

Ed Davis... right. LOL.

Love doesn't play defense, and no amount of spin by you is going to change that. Bye!

I'm just going to point out that Love's TS%, which is a very good measure of efficiency, is significantly higher that Wade's. The strong likelihood is that if Wade puts up more shots - taking shots he otherwise would not - his efficiency will drop even further.

Dort's a strong and scary dude. I'm glad he and Love didn't go toe to toe!

Never underestimate the tactic Love took in that "fight".

We can all agree that all NBA fights end in a non-fight, right? So with that in mind, what do you do...

Love nailed it, call out bullshit, push the pile, don't get kicked out.

I could start a separate thread on what I've done in bar fights. I only played one incorrectly. Ended in a broken nose when I was 21. Other than that, my record was incredible. Mostly winning through the crowd laughing too hard for the fight to actually take place. My best move was attacking my opponent for completely ridiculous things they weren't responsible for doing. My backup plan was running around like we were playing "kill the carrier".

Anywho, we need some understanding that Love was openly playing the refs when the refs should have called some bullshit calls and didn't.

Closest I ever got to a fight was in a rec league basketball game where I accidentally tackled a girl out of bounds while trying to stop a fastbreak. My momentum was going WAY stronger than I realized, so when I went to grab my arms around her to stop her from shooting, we kept going forward, and she and I went sailing well past the basket and practically into the crowd. Next thing I knew, I was thrown out of the game, and some old lady shouted at me from the stands, "THIS! ISN'T! FOOTBALL!"

Love, meanwhile, in his bruiser Timberwolf days, once stomped on Luis Scola's head. Jon Niednagel of Brain Types wrote an article about it, saying Kevin Love has the same ISTP brain type as serial killers. That seems much less believable now than it did then.

Love pushing the pile got me so hyped last night. I will say though that was such a weak ejection for that little elbow.

He swung the elbow with a lot of force and he made contact. If that would have been a shorter player like, say, Garland, instead of KLove on the receiving end, it would have caught him squarely in the side of the head (if Garland) instead of the shoulder (with Love). Intent, lack of basketball purpose, it met all criteria for a flagrant 2.

Love is an enforcer. I loved this last night. He was ready to uppercut Dort.

The new strategy against the Cavs is for opponents to play bully ball against them. Just get the strongest, stockiest players you can and bull rush, push, undercut, grab, and elbow them all over the court. They do this to try to negate the length advantage the Cavs put on the floor, and to try to intimidate our team as a whole.

Love, being the veteran he is, has taken notice and he's obviously had enough. Somebody has to step up and send the message that what comes around goes around, and in absence of anyone else doing this Love took it on himself to be the first one to take a stand, and set the right tone that we're not going to put up with those tactics.

Good for him, proving his value as a veteran player.
