Man, KLove must've really pissed someone off. NBA heads don't usually scorch players like this
He was probably acting like a Diva and thought he didn't have to earn a spot and rebound like he should. Probably thought he would go there and shoot 3s and visit Japan. This guy is spoiled and sitting at home making millions literally stealing money from Gilbert off former glory riding the LBJ coattail.

I get people are eager to jump on the anti-Love train, but fuck Colangelo for that. Even if it's true that he was out of shape, you don't say that kind of thing the way he did to the public. And at least Love was willing to join the team and put in the effort when most vets don't seem to want to join Team USA right now.

The guy was out of shape last year. He acted like a jackass. He is basically stealing Gilbert's money.

RJ bringing up a Colangelo burner account is pretty savage considering how it ended in Philly for the Colangelo Clan. Well done RJ.

Also when Bill Simmons of all people is in effect defending Love it seems clear Colangelo isn‘t well liked.

Nobody comes out of this story looking good.

It was way easier to pretend Love wasn't a dick when he was an efficient walking 17 and 10.
We're totally buying this dude out, right?

The trade for Rubio got me thinking. At this juncture, the only reason for a veteran to be taking up a roster spot is either a) is really fucking good at basketball (LOL), b) he serves as a mentor or otherwise sets a good example for our young core, or c) it is impossible to get his ass outta here.

The sooner we buy him out, the more cap space we can salvage. Come the trade deadline, teams have already blown their wads for that year and can only offer the prorated vet min. Now is the time, while teams are flush with cap space and there will inevitably be some teams that whiff on their FA wishlist and may be willing to sign Kevin to something higher than the vet min.

How do we save cap space by buying him out if he won’t give back money?

I've been a long-time lurker and just recently started getting involved, so trust me, I'm not looking to call you out man. Do you know that he's being a prick in buyout negotiations or is that just your assumption?

I don't tow the company line on the buyout. Some think that's fine. I see the Pistons paying Blake Griffin to be the fourth-best player for Brooklyn and say, "Fuuuuck that!"
Agree. Why pay Love to play for someone else? He can either play 15-20 minutes until his ovaries give out or sit home until we can trade his contract.

Trust me, I understand how fucking frustrating that would be. But this may come down to what's better for the Cavs. What's more important, fighting to keep our culture free of potential toxins while salvaging some cap space, or making sure Love stays nailed to our bench so he has to honor the rest of his contract in misery? What's stronger, your support for the Cavs or your disdain toward Love?

Honest question:

If Kevin Love gets bought out, what's the best he can be?

10 minutes a night on a maybe contender? Are we sure Love wouldn't just retire?
