The proper course of action was to trade Love instead of extending him. Anyone could have predicted Love not aging graceful (and people did) but Koby offered a sentimental contract to Love based on the past rather than what he could give in the future.

Normally after a title window closes, teams liquidate their roster to start over. Love had value at one point then Koby gave a massive extension which made him untradeable from the start.
There's a third option - extend him for three years instead of four at around $25M per. I really think that smart teams are going to figure out that longer extensions aren't really worth it in the player empowerment era. You're not sharing risk with the player anymore, you're just assuming it.

I'm proud of Kevin. As a board we've given him his share of grief and I'm pretty sure he's not unaware of what is said about him. Dude is playing hard and seems to have the respect of his teammates. That's all I can ask for. Keep it up, Kev!!

Love been playing well the last two games. I hope he continues it.
I hope they do not let his minutes creep up and I would not be opposed to giving him some nights off.
He looks invested in this team and has seemingly accepted his role off the bench and is being very productive

Agreed. He's embraced his role and has been averaging almost a point a minute. Here's hoping he stays healthy and can keep it up.

Wouldn’t it be great if he could shoot like 40% from the field? He always has moments for big “momentum” shots and 95% of the time just misses it.
But overall he’s been engaged and looks to have embraced his role. If he stays healthy maybe more shots will fall.
