It's understandable why they are wanting to keep him under 20 MPG after what we saw tonight. The pace of today's game is just too much for Love to handle at this point in his career.

I'm pretty sure Love is cooked, but if the other team is going to guard him with smaller players like Anderson, the Cavs need to get him the ball in the post with his back to the basket and let him eat. If nothing else, he'll get those guys in foul trouble and get to the line.

Rebounding often suffers when you have shot blockers. When they challenge shots from penetrating opponents, they are out of rebound position. Obviously, there are ways for the other players to hustle into rebound position, but when and how to do this is tricky... especially for in experienced players.

The only good thing about Love’s salary is that it helps us avoid even longer money on a bad deal while we wait to see which young guys can play.

Love and Cedi are our last links to the championship teams. Miss those days and very grateful to both (moreso Kevin) for their contributions to the best era of Cavalier basketball ever. I don’t blame Love’s contract on him. Gilbert is to blame for this. We can’t be mad at Kevin for it. Everyone knew he likely wouldn’t age well with his back.

At least he has accepted his bench role for now. I’m sure it’s tough to be on this team at his stage of his career but he has 60 million reasons to tough it out. I believe we only have 18 more months of Kevin. And that assumes no buyout. He really isn’t hampering the team anymore with his new role.

So we thank him for the championship (the Stop) and just wait it out. Dan’s fault not Kevin’s. Remember that.

Oh, I blame everyone involved for Love's contract. I blame Beilein for destroying Love's trade value when it was still positive. I blame the front office for allowing it to get as bad as it did. I blame Sexton for treating him like a $30M decoy for that season. I blame Love and his agent for what's happened since. It's a big enough problem that there's plenty of blame to go around.

I really don't think he has any interest in helping the kids. He's here to collect a paycheck. Nothing more.

There have been fair and legitimate criticisms of Love in recent years, such as his declining production, bad health, and some of his meltdowns.

But claiming he has no interest in helping the younger players is just an unfounded cynical statement. This is what Darius Garland said last month about Love:

"20:50 What’s Kevin Love been like as a teammate behind the scenes, and what can he bring to this team this season?

Garland: He’s a treat to be around, literally. He always has a smile on his face, and he’s always making jokes. He’s always ready to work. I call him my big vet. That’s the big dog right there. He’s won a championship, been an Olympian, and had All-Star appearances. He’s done it all. We all try to pick Kevin’s brain for what he’s seen. I try to pick his brain over little things. Me and Love go out to eat and talk a lot. We love having Love around."

So either Darius is a liar, or you guys have some insight into how Love is as a teammate that is somehow deeper than what one of his own young teammates has said.

Again, I've been critical of Love myself, to the point where some have even joked about my username. But let's have fair and objective criticism and not completely unfounded cynicism.
