LOL.

If the Cavs thought he was being a selfish and unprofessional egomaniac as some of you are making him out to be, they wouldn't retire his number.

The organization has a much more direct line into his behavior than the fans do, and the very fact that they're going to honor his time here by retiring his number shows that this situation isn't near as bad as some people here are trying to make it out to be.

Look, I'd understand the outrage if he actually left the team on very bad terms, some bad words got out, and he trashed the team on his way out.

But NONE of that happened. He thanked the fans and city on Twitter, the team said his number will be retired -- oh my, the hate and drama!

NOT.

But I do have some good news for you -- he will totally suck when the Cavs and Heat play in a few days, and you can make fun of him all you want then.

But it will also prove the Cavs were right to let him go, because he's done, and if anything, you should be glad he's not out there on the floor stinking up the joint and making your team lose.

I think you are wrong on that one, the Cavs can think he's a selfish asshole and still retire his number. You also have player relations to deal with as well.

When/where was "eliminated" or "permanently glued to the bench" stated?

This was after the game with the Knicks on Jan. 24:

"He is out of the rotation to make room for Dean Wade,' tweeted Cleveland.com's NBA reporter Chris Fedor. 'There was a conversation between J.B. [Bickerstaff] and Kevin about that recently. Even though it was difficult, it's what was best."

What else do you suppose made that conversation "difficult"? And then there is this - after that game, he went 12 games straight without getting a single minute. So though I don't have a certified transcript of the conversation between Love and JBB, it was pretty clear that if Love wanted to play any more this season, it was going to have to be with another team.

Kyrie is likely to get his number retired, too so you may want to rethink you need to be a choirboy to get a number retired. Jim Brown has a statue and he had reprehensible behavior off the court.

Are you forgetting the temper tantrums he threw just 2 seasons ago?

None of that says "eliminated" or "permanently removed," though. What if Dean Wade sucked or got injured? Youre *assuming* the context that isn't there. Could've been to make room for Dean "for now..." or "to see how he does..." or something. What if Evan or JA get injured?

Love had 12 games where he didnt play, but something like 8 of them were because of injury...

Kevin Love is out tonight with sore ribs. Wonder if he even suits up against the Cavs.

You're a dumb thread.

Even if his shot did return KLove cannot defend his position {or any other position} which is a necessity in the game today. Same reason RoLo gets no run.

If it wasn't Wade, it'd be Lamar or Cedi or even Neto getting Kevin's minutes...

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I can feel the frustration from posters who were convinced Love would beat us in Miami. Now that we won they can't dump all over Koby and JBB.

Love is cooked. He's not relevant to our team anymore. We've moved on. It was the correct decision to move on.

Players get hurt all the time, and JBB has demonstrated all year that he will change his rotations. See the recent Stevens minutes. Love would have gotten the same opportunity at some point.

Love was not permanently benched. Guys he thinks are inferior were getting his minutes and he had a tantrum. It's what he does.
