The fun part about watching this with Kevin Love is simply the fact that Kevin Love does not want to be a Cavalier…Nor is he interested in NBA basketball or a contract past this one… But he wants all his coins..

Kevin Love is a bullshitter and the one thing a bullshitter can’t do is bullshit another bullshitter….Kevin Love has never relied on athleticism.. This is not Amare Stoudemire here. This is not someone who doesn’t have anymore jumps in those knees and has to revamp his game on the fly..

This was some fat ass kid outta Oregon that was not athletic, had no vertical, was not gonna posterize you or run the floor…. Instead he was gonna outlet pass, set screens and flare, seal his man on the block and make a slow move all the while beating you on the glass… He had a niche and he played it well… Within reason that niche does not go away with age or diminished athleticism …. It goes away with a lack of desire and enthusiasm for the game…

Calf injury, not in shape (compare his shape now to when his fat ass came into the league)

Kevin Love has zero desire to put on a Cavs jersey ever again… That man can pick up a basketball tomorrow and put in 20pts and 10rbs in the slowest and most unappealing way possible… If he wanted to…. No bullshit!

Excellent post.

I don't think that buying him out now really saves you any more money than buying him out next year.

He's got 2 years and $60M+ left on his contract. If people think he's about to sign for the vet min somewhere, then he's giving up exactly $0 of the money from this year in the process. He might give up a few million in year two -- but I would assume the amount has more to do with how much he wants to chase a championship, and not when we do the buyout.

If he's not a bad influence, best to let him stay around here -- see if he regains his form - or becomes more valuable next year as a $30M expiring.

If only the Cavs drafted Embiid and never traded for Love. Rings, rings, rings.

Embiid did not play his first 2 seasons. He played 31 games his 3rd season. Didn't play 60+ games until his 4th season. So it wouldn't have been rings, rings, rings. It would have been dead weight most likely causeing LBJ to leave even sooner.

If the fire is gone he should retire.

And if he not retiring to collect a paycheck, shame on him. That is very unethical.

And if he is doing this to get bought out so he can put up 17-10 for the Lakers or something then the Cavs should stop paying him for what amounts to fraud.

Contracts require performance and he ain't doing it.

Shame on you love shame on you. Team USA just experienced what we been experiencing the last 3 seasons and lucky for them they didn’t witness your tantrums. I agree with colangelo on blasting his ass. I lost all the respect for love when he missed 90% of the season and throws that tantrum against the raptors. He needs to go he is not mentor leader material plain and simple

Windhorst addressed this situation in the most recent Hoop Collective podcast. 3 main takeaways…

1) Kevin was the talk of Team USA camp before he left and before Colangelo called him out. He looked like shit there and everyone was talking about it.

2) There was real intrigue to see how he played, even if it was just to see if he could fill a role on buyout market.

3) Bad look what Jerry said? Maybe to us, but nothing he said was news around league circles.

Altman is the first silly GM that cant deal same lazy ex-star player he signed himself. Its hilarious how Love is manipulation the whole organisation for that many years(years ,Karl) and still being paid for polishing the bench. He doesnt want to be a Cavalier, but wants its money. He doesnt have proud to just opt out or do anything for possible trade,he doesnt want to retire either. And thats all under supervision of clueless Cavs GM ever.
