Kevin Love Trade Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We would need to get rid of one of our SGs. Wouldn't we have a logjam at that position if we added Walker?

It's only a logjam if you have a lot of GOOD players at the same position

"Kevin Love for Harrison Barnes"

Lol.

Maybe Kevin Love + Cedi Osman for Barnes. You're not getting Barnes that cheaply.

"You're not getting Barnes that cheaply." is the second-funniest sentence I've heard this summer, after "You're not getting Wiggins that cheaply." :chuckle:

I wouldn't trade either player straight up for Barnes, let alone both of them. What a garbage post.

This thread is still a thing?

I mean... c'mon.

Kevin Love is our best player by a large margin. There's no reason to trade him unless a good offer presents itself.

We just signed him to a large contract extention - it doesn't make sense to trade him. His trade value is iffy at best.

I don't think the league allows you to trade him for a whole year after his extention kicks in.

If I were looking for possible trade targets, Porzingis is a guy that comes to mind. He's coming off an injury plagued season so his value isn't superstar level at the moment. I'm not saying he's a realistic target, but he's the type of guy I'd trade Love for.

Anyway, keeping him is the best decision at the moment even if we were allowed to trade him.

Trading Kevin Love makes sense from a tanking standpoint, and because it's very possible he declines his player option and signs elsewhere.

With interest from playoff teams likely to increase as the deadline approaches, let's go over some Kevin Love deals that could make our future brighter. Just think of the trade ideas as a framework. Salaries may not match, and picks maybe should be involved. There are certainly arguments for or against these trades from either teams' perspective. Please post your own ideas.

Teams that may be interested (in no particular order):
1. Phoenix
They were interested in Kevin before. A lot of losing has been taking place in Phoenix. Looking to turn things around with a Ayton and a Devin Booker extension, they may still be interested in Love. I would assume they are still reluctant to trade Josh Jackson, but they do have both Ariza and Bridges at that position now.

TRADE: Kevin Love for Tyson Chandler, Marquese Chriss, Josh Jackson

2. Toronto
With the arrival of Kawhi and the disappointment of Serge, they were certainly be interested in a win-now piece.

TRADE: They'd need to find a 3-team deal with someone that would want Serge. Or even a multi-team deal in which Lowry is given up and Schroeder comes in. Anunoby seems like the only player on Toronto that the Cavs would be interested in. Unless they're willing to deal Jonas, which is doubtful.

3. Washington
Apparently still Washington still thinks they can be good with the pickups of Dwight Howard and Jeff Green. Kevin Love is a win-now piece at their weakest position - unless they think Porter/Green/Oubre are fine as the stretch 4's.

TRADE: Kevin Love for Otto Porter

4. Indiana
Also in win-now mode. They have a lot of expiring contracts. If they feel like Young/Sabonis/Turner aren't cutting it, they may give up some young pieces/picks for Love.

TRADE: Kevin Love for Young, Sabonis

5. Minnesota
With the likelihood of Jimmy Butler leaving after this year, they might wanna go all in?

TRADE: Kevin Love for Wiggins

6. Portland.
Kevin just seems like he would fit well with Lillard/McCollum/Nurkic. Portland has been looking to get over the hump.

TRADE: Kevin Love for Harkless, Leonard

7. OKC

They just need more talent. Period. Love could add much needed shooting and could add to the inside presence of Adams.

TRADE: Nothing of value here for the Cavs. Not sure how OKC could even pull a 3-team trade for Love. Maybe we can trade them Korver for their 1st round pick.

8. Utah
Another team looking to get over the hump. The future of Favors is still a question mark (as far as I know) for them. They have a young team. A lot of trade-able pieces.

TRADE: Not sure if the Cavs would be interested in anyone here besides their really young guys who are still prospects. Might have to be a 3-team trade here. Alec Burks is an expiring.

9. Philly
They see a chance to win the East. They're probably not willing to give up Saric, unfortunately.

TRADE: Kevin Love for Wilson Chandler, Jared Bayless, and Zhaire Smith

10. Dallas
Since they love DeAndre Jordan, why not the even younger Kevin Love? On paper they fit very well together, and would be good vets to put with Dennis Smith Jr and Doncic.

TRADE: Kevin Love for Harrison Barnes

Again, not saying the Cavs would be in favor of all of these trades. Same goes for the other team. I didn't post the rationale for each trade, but please give the scenario/rationale for your ideas. Include any team and why they would trade for Love.

I constantly get blasted for my trade ideas, but those are all horrific. Phoenix would have to do a combination of Jackson & Bridges in order for me to consider sending Love to Arizona. That's just my opinion though.

lol why would we trade KLove for anything but draft picks or young promising guys still on rookie contracts? We are a rebuilding team.

This is why tolerating terrible threads only leads to more problems.

Take the troll hat off.
