Kind of shocking to me that KLove is higher then Kyrie. No one can deny his first so many years here KLove was used horribly. Also surprised Kyrie is tied with Varejao. How much does rebounding factor into this?
Kyrie being a negative defender plays a lot into it (along with Andy having pretty darn good defensive metrics). Rebounding and overall game impact plays a lot into it.

Kyrie was a dazzling offensive player in Cleveland, but look at these numbers:

Kevin Love TS% in CLE: .574
Kyrie Irving TS% in CLE: .561

Kevin Love PER in CLE: 20.1
Kyrie Irving PER in CLE: 21.3

Those are both pretty solid overall offensive metrics to look at, and Ky and Love are both about neck and neck. Factor in both being relatively poor defenders and Love being an elite rebounder, and there you go.

Kevin is putting up some nice numbers but he isn't really doing it in the most efficient manner most nights. 6/16 tonight 3/8 from 3. Luckily the past couple of games he has been getting to the line a lot which has helped.

Length is not easy for him unless another star is drawing the attention and he can spot up.

Love lives at the line. He really sets out to draw the foul on a lot of his post ups. But refs often won’t call that stuff in crunch time

It looks like LeBrons early clutchless cleveland days rubbed off on Kevin. I could easily be cherry picking, but it seems that Kevin does not perform greatly under pressure. We still need a “closer” who can help us pull out these “close” games. I value the shit out of what kevin brings to this team, don’t get me wrong. That other Kevin on the team has shown some potential In terms of putting up points when the pressure is on. He really can get to the hoop! If he can hit some 3s...

He's literally scoring with the best efficiency of his career so far this year

55.1% on 2PT (previous high was 50.2%)
34.3% on 3PT (admittedly down a touch, but his 3PTr is nearly a career-high, so it's still driving his efficiency up)
88.4% on FT (second best to last year with a career-high FTr)

.533 eFG% (second best of career)
.619 TS% (career-high)

I was more referring to the last couple of games, but you're right my bad.

On a side note, I want to know the exact terms of the trade. Because we still have all those players from Utah. I wonder if the Cavaliers are still looking to trade for a big-man. I said this almost 2 weeks ago, the Cavaliers should see if they can pry John Henson away from the Bucks. Young, athletic, shot-blocker, not making a ton of money, and the NBA Trade Machine showed me this trade can be done several ways even after the Love trade is completed.
We got him, 5 years late, but we got him

Kevin Love (back) will not play on Monday vs. the Knicks.
If you want to look at the glass half full, Love isn't listed with a knee injury after tweaking it a bit on Sunday. This injury does sound minor, and it's possible that this was a planned rest day for Love -- before the season the Cavaliers were pretty transparent about their plan to load manage him, and this is the second game of a back-to-back. Larry Nance (thumb) is also out, so Tristan Thompson will get heavy minutes up front and we could get another look at Ante Zizic too. Other than that, expect a lot of small-ball lineups with Cedi Osman at the four, while Alfonzo McKinnie and Kevin Porter Jr. could get more minutes too.

I look forward to another emergency press conference by scared Knicks execs after the Cavs beat them without Love

If they want to win hopefully Dean Wade gets his opportunity tonight!

I think taking 60 games off last year agrees with him, along with not playing in multiple playoff rounds. In the three seasons between 2016 and 2018 he averaged just under 20 playoff games per season along with averaging 65 regular season games. So he went from playing about 85 games a year to 22 - a lot less wear and tear.

He still seems to be having problems with his post-up game. The refs are calling the traveling tighter, which affects his spin move to the baseline. He's having trouble getting his shot off and he's getting stripped. He's averaging 2.9 turnovers so far, up 45% from his career average of 2.0. Eliminating the high-risk and careless outlet passes would help.
