"His cap space does nothing for us".

Really? We can't do anything with $30 million a year for the next three years? There aren't any good NBA players who would take that money?
Fair enough. I overstated the situation by saying "nothing," but I guess my point was in response to other teams that say other teams are giving a gift to the Cavs by taking Love's contract off their hands.
Windhorst just indicated on ESPN 850 that Portland feels that by just taking on Love's contract that should be enough and the Cavs should not get a young asset or draft pick back. I find that laughable from our perspective.
Clearly we could use Love's money in other areas, but we are already going to have over $20 million in cap space if we stand pat. I see no reason to trade Love unless we get an asset back and if teams are unwilling to do so I'd rather just keep him.

At least he knows he’s a terrible person.
Give the horse a carrot! Or sugarcubes or better yet, Have Bjork reunite with the Sugarcubes and wear a carrot outfit! Kevin comes from a family where his Uncle is one of the biggest ahole's alive; Mike Love. So, he comes by it honestly.

Well we should know Love deals with some mental disorders.
That said it is hard to handle day to day but as far as I know this is the first time I've heard of him showing out .
Perhaps the pressure is getting to him, but if this is a trigger for that he's got to get a handle on it, because it's not getting any easier.

I think Portland will relent as we get closer to the deadline and there isn't a star player available for trade. They traded away decent players for Whiteside contract to do exactly this. They already have a good core of Lillard, McCollum, and Nurkic. Love would fit in that group and can be a 3rd or 4th option and can play off the ball real well. There window should be right now. If they go get Love and trade Bazemore for someone more useful, then Nurkic comes back, they could jump right into contending if the chemistry is there.

But does Portland having Melo now in a stretch 4 role reduce chance of them taking on Love in a trade? I don't think Melo can play the 3 anymore

I don't think Melo is a full time SF but he can play it for stretches just like Love can play Center for stretches. I don't think they see Melo as a long term piece especially at 35. Nurkic hasn't playing yet and I could see them bring him back slowly. I could see Melo and Love splitting time at PF while Melo picks up minutes at SF and Love plays some center.

I think they pull the trigger because they can't let Whiteside's contract expires, it won't create any space. Really a 2020 1st round pick or a young player could be a steal for Love. They won't be able to get that level of talent for that price.

Pair that with the fact they have a good version of Melo and Love can help fill minutes until Nurkic is ready. They might just see it as their chance to go for it just like Toronto last year. Imagine if they got Ariza or someone like that for Bazemore.

I would be happy if we got Justise Winslow for Love even it means we eat Dion or James Johnsons deal.

Eh all those trades are done from the perspective of the other team, especially the last one with Boston. Why would the cavs want a straight swap with Hayward? We don’t want to trade him just to help Boston and let them choose which one they want.

Denver makes the most sense to me but I don’t think they can throw in a first due to some rule

Not sure about the filler but kuzma love trade would help us

Love looks good out there. He's not Minnesota Love and you ain't getting that without a PG like Rubio around but dude is playing like a big man on a contender qwould lookl lime

His elbow jumper has been money recently, aided by shooting it more in that period than perhaps any other time as a Cav.

The turnovers though, needs to cut them out, far too many for a player of his ability.

Minnesota Love was a product of the times. No power forwards or centers play like that anymore due to the influence of analytics. Read Sprawlball and you'll see why no big men post up like he did in those days. It's not even a possibility in today's NBA.
