I came in here to shit on Kevin but I think he is actually hurt. You know what? This dude off the bench would be excellent. He is savvy/crafty and has a high bball IQ. He will almost always be on the court with Drummond or McGee so the rim protection is there.
it’s not his fault he signed that contract, as long as he isn’t just sitting out faking an injury.
basically a healthy and motivated Love, while overpaid, still helps our young guys develop. I think it’s best to reserve judgement on him until we see him play 10 games or so.
and frankly, we should use the “ease in post-injury” thing as an excuse to have him coming off of the bench. If Okoro can just develop, not even be lights out but just develop alongside our starters, that puts Love in with Exum who is an excellent defender, Dotson who I think is a nice piece, Cedi who Love will take some scoring burden away from, and McGee who defends the rim. No we aren’t subbing all of them in at once, but he can elevate those individuals.
Guys he isn’t going anywhere. The Zen is figuring out how to utilize him and how to remain competitive and thirsty and be a 6th seed and develop that winning mentality.
