Wasnt changing the subject, asking your opinion on his production and actual value. I have no hate toward him although many do including Ben.

If Love were as healthy as he was last year in the first year of his contract, there would still have been complaints. The guy gave us some very good years of his prime, and those same people complained. I think the real key is a week or so from now, seeing his offensive impact with a legitimate team around him.

I love the guy, i could care less if he is just here to milk the contract. I am not saying that is the case, just saying who cares, Love is the least of our worries.

I understand your frustration as he gave it all during our championship years, sacrificed to fit in, didnt complain, and his weakness of defense is what he gave us in that final 2 minutes when he guarded Steph, and it was amazing.

I mean if i am pissed at anything its that he is model good looking, extremely rich, and his gf is ridiculously hot, so fuck him for having an amazing life, lol

The ironic thing is with all of that you mentioned, he still suffers with some serious depression... Life can be weird

I wonder if the fact that our roster, as presently constituted, could be a playoff contender, when healthy, will have any effect on his desire to get back, and be productive.

I forgot about that, very weird, but depression is a medical thing, not about how great your life is or is not.

Just imagine if he comes back and actually plays well!
drummond/Allen/nance/Love. That’s a really good front court. Love provides that spacing when healthy.
if Okoro pans out and Sexland is healthy, well that’s a lot of ifs, but that’s a playoff team.

Sports talk show here in Sac just reported that an NBA insider said that due to CJ McCollum and Jurvic’s injuries (both out for an extended time) the Blazers reached out to the Cavs about Love’s availability. Interesting.....

Just get Nurkic so the Cavs have 4 centers, add more to Sexland trees, lol...

Not really. Unless they trade us one of Lillard, McCollum, or Nurkic, I don't even think it's possible for them to match Love's salary. If it is, they would have to trade the rest of their roster.

Covington, Jones, and Collins together would work for salary - but you have to wait until February 5 for Jones to become eligible. Would only save about $9M next year, but the entire salary would be cleared a year early. No first rounders would be available until 2023 at the earliest.

Hopefully a 3rd team could be involved since that package looks depressing. Never understood the infatuation teams have with Covington. Guess he’s a decent defender but he is mediocre. Jones doesn’t do anything well except jump high and I like Collins but dude has been injured for 3 years! Rather just keep Love and hope he can stay healthy cuz his passing and shooting could help Sexton and Garland

A package like that would be for earlier cap savings and a future first rounder. I'm also not a big fan of Covington, though I suspect he may have some worth to a third team as an interior defender. Collins could be of interest to someone who wants to take a flyer. He has a QO coming up and I doubt his next contract will be expensive. He's still only 23 and he is a big who shows ability to stretch. Jones is just salary filler. The unfortunate thing about him is he has a player option for next year that I don't see him declining - but he can also be salary filler for us in future trades.

The big issue here is Portland likely values Covington. They gave up two firsts to get him. He is a top flight defender. We could also take Rodney Hood back instead once we get to March. Hood is not guaranteed next year. Hood, Jones, and Collins doesn't quite work, but a smaller salary thrown in would get it over the top.

Nurkic would also work as part of a trade, but not sure the Blazers want to do that. They could always re-sign him next season as the Cavs likely will not exercise his option and just pay out the $4M he is guaranteed. Reality is any trade of Love to the Blazers probably is a three team deal anyways.
