And the year before that he played 22/82. He had an awful season for us last year shooting an atrocious 38% from the floor. Don’t think he’s putting in the off court work he should be.
He shot 45% from the floor last year and nearly matched his career-high in eFG% and TS%. He was really good offensively last year. Probably our best player.

Plus, all your post referred to was two seasons. Yes, he's missed a ton of time this season, but he was available and playing all last season prior to the shutdown.

My guess this is the last year of the rebuild, Kevin opts out of this season and "tries" to come back next year and play a real season with the Cavs looking to win at much as possible.

yes correct, my bad meant the season before.
I don’t mean to mindlessly hate on the guy but he’s been a very frustrating player for me the past few years. David Blatt who i greatly admire as a coach from watching him for years in Europe really didn’t like him. I think there’s something to that, Dwade was having major issues with him also and questioned his competitiveness. I understand he’s had anxiety issues but the way I see it is if you accept that kind of huge money I don’t really take pity on the excuses...

I feel he’s very soft and not really the type of veteren you want around a Young team. The amount of drama that’s surrounded him the past couple years, his on court outbursts are just unprofessional.

His defensive effort has been pretty pathetic at times even during our championships runs even when healthy. I’m getting a bit sick of him being on this team eating up salary and not providing anything positive.

Calf injury is really bad.

I always wanted Lebron to have a minor injury just so the team could learn to play without him.

They really slid with Larry out, but they figured it out. That's growth, and if both Larry and Love come back the team should be significantly better and the bench should be good again with Nance holding it down.

Win wise it was bad, but development wise I think it is a good scenario. Even finding they didn't need Drummond was big imo. Love will solidify the 3pt shooting and Larry should make the bench formidable
A player who plays for another sports team i follow did his calf, then he kept doing it again and again for a few years. He’d spend months out, come back and wouldn’t even last a quarter before doing it again. He retired last season

Lonnie is the first person I think of.

I don’t really get the people mocking him for missing so much time with a calf injury, they can take months to heal.
He’s old and injury prone, this will be an on going thing as it has been since his arrival
Maybe I’m forgetting something but Love was pretty healthy until Olink yanked his arm out it’s socket

Blake Griffin gave back $13.3M to leave Detroit. Think we can get Love to give up $20+M?

I'm going to say it... shit, I can't keep it in...

The Cavs are objectively not a team that matters this season. It's the dirty secret of the NBA - the bottom ten just don't matter, no matter what.

The team on paper would be much better with a healthy Love. They would be much better with Nance AND Love.

But were they going to do anything significant? Were they going to make it to the second round?

Nope.

If Love and Nance are healthy next season with these young guys maturing, maybe they are an Eastern Conference good team. I don't think I have to point out that "Western Conference good" and "Eastern Conference good" are totally different.

So the immediacy of this Love hate just doesn't make any sense to me. Not when the youth, inexperience, and errors of our young core is just as problematic as Love not playing. And yes, I get irritated that Cavs fans refuse to discuss the mistakes of the young at length on order to pile on the injured vets. Those young players need the old heads. They need them badly, because they beat themselves often. One of these things is not like the other. One can be changed by the player, the other is out of his hands.

But this is the internet and people are allowed to believe falsehoods and write about it.

I think people have been super critical of all the young players too, if you go to Sextons, Garlands, Okoros threads. Myself alone have probably made like 50 posts complaining about our midget front court and their terrible defence, Garlands incredibly inconsistent sloppy play, Sextons tunnel vision, Okoros “offense”. etc. Its simply not true that people are ONLY trashing Love while ignoring the terrible play of our young guys.

Love played most games last year and we still sucked, not like he made much of a difference. For a player being payed 30 mil a year.

Besides from Nance there hasn’t been much positive to say about our vets this year unfortunately.

My grievences with Love have date back since he joined us. Tgisyear he hasn’t done anything specifically bad this I havnt posted anything about it. Although there always seems to be an injury or some drama with him. My frustration lies more with Altman for giving him the silly long contract, but would be great to see him earn his money at some point.

FWIW, I really enjoy seeing Love going nuts on the bench when one of his teammates makes a great play. The joy on his face seems genuine. That time Garland jumped on his back after Okoro (I think) made a game winning shot was classic. They both looked like little kids at Christmas seeing new bikes under the tree.

Never saw that from Drummond. His expression never changed no matter what happened.

I think he’s bought in to something bigger than himself...he wants to be a part of something...The team is always bigger than the individual and he’s bought into that. That’s why I think you see the engagement, you see him every night, he’s at practice every day, he’s battling with his guys. Can’t say enough good things about his leadership, his effort, his consistency. - JBB
