If the impossible happens and he makes the team.......

I may end up rooting for Russia

Maybe he can convince one of the other stars that he is still really good and they pressure their FO to trade for him?

At this point, we can all agree Love can go ahead and beg his Team USA teammates to lure him away from Northeast Ohio.

People act like he hasn't been doing that for 2 years.

He's practically begged to be in Portland for a while now. Don't think that Channing Frye made up trade scenarios on Twitter to get Love to Portland because he was bored.

I could probably make a halfway decent argument that Love not only gave us a 'ship, but also got us the 3rd pick in this draft with one monster game this past season.

I'm not saying dont trade him and that he doesn't pout... I'm just saying its truly hard for me to hate the guy as much as some seem to...

I have been surprised at the strong dislike, for Love in the forum. Sure he has been injured a lot and is paid a lot, but you really can't blame injuries and accepting the near max salary on Love. When Love was healthy and in shape, like he was in 2019-20, he averaged 18 pts. and 10 reb.

I definitely would not be willing to give a major asset to get out of his contract. Let's see what he does in the Olympics and go from there. When healthy he is still a good starting player for most teams.

I think the issue has been that he's done a lot of whining/sulking/bitching/shitty body language for a guy who has missed as many games as he has.

That "when healthy" is a pretty huge caveat in his case, though. Not necessarily his fault, but a reality nonetheless.

Are folks actually expecting him to play in Japan? Id be shocked if he gets off the bench much, at all. Bam and Draymond will see the bulk of the "big" minutes, and I anticipate the team going small and fast a large chunk of the time. If he can get some networking and "rescue me" talk from other dudes, I'd be happy, but I don't think his play is gonna help him get moved.
