Sexton has established himself as a good player and KPJ has shown some exciting flashes. But it's far too early to call Altman 5/5 when Garland had such an underwhelming rookie season and the other two have yet to play an NBA game.

Just going on the information I have available. I do think Garland is an NBA player. He may not be top 5 pick talent, but he is an NBA player.

We will see about our 2 rookies, but even Wade is one of the best players in the Gleague. I think he has been good scouting talent, we just haven't been in a position to take the really obvious guys.

Okoro and Windler haven't done anything yet, but with their skill sets those are guys that stick. I think injuries would have to derail them to make them not NBA players.

Doesn't there have to be a rebuild before you can say he nailed it?

I’ll say this.

This team should be able to handily outplay teams with weak depth/weak bench issues.

Bickerstaff can put out a lot of annoying and explosive line ups.

My previous post seems pretty accurate. Altman is a good talent evaluator if nothing else. Garland may bust, but only as a disappointment for a top 5 pick. He will be in the NBA for a long time. Seemingly nailed the Okoro pick so far. Unless Winlder really can't shoot, he got another rotation guy in the back end of the first round. He seems to have identified talent at every level.

The garland pick is holding back the rebuild. Think he did well with the other 4 firsts. Atlanta may have screwed us trading up for Hunter even tho he’s a bit of a role player

I said earlier in the thread, they didn't give Sexton a chance to grow in the point guard position. He was doing okay after the All-Star break in his rookie year. Why not allow him to grow instead of taking another one in the draft.

I'm not saying the team would have been better under Sexton but atleast let him learn the position. People keep saying the point guard position is hard to learn yet they automatically gave the starting position to Garland, who was coming back from injury.

Nailing a rebuild is effectively doing one thing: drafting the best available player at the time you made your selection. We didn’t do that in Sexton’s or Garland’s draft IMO. To compound that, we also selected two players that clearly can’t coexist.

We botched the JB hire and now seem to have another incredibly underwhelming coach. The Cavs are honestly another bad season away from cleaning house and that might prompt moving multiple players selected by this front office.

Maybe I’m overly pessimistic with the Cavs but I just don’t see what the bigger picture is. There seem to be a lot of disparate strategies at each level of the organization, so it isn’t surprising that the product on the floor is so disparate as well.

What the heck? It's just preseason. Chill. Sexton hadn't played in 9 months. Porter Jr. is a key piece & he hasn't played.

I’m sure we are due a Fedor article preaching patience, maybe even mentioning what a fantastic job Gottlieb is doing with KP..

At the time neither Sexton nor Garland were clearly bad picks. Garland was more of a risk. But we were in no position to draft for “fit,” so Cavs took who they thought was the best player available. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with the Cavs thinking that a Garland/Sexton backcourt can work. One of them will eventually have to go.

I will be disappointed if they’re both in the starting lineup on December 23rd.

Porter will probably miss a couple games to start the season. That's why we might see the SexLand backcourt.
And exum is probably out for a month, we should start Delly over Garland

Garland had the same amount of assists as Matthews, he played almost a minute more too. He probably need to earn a spot in the rotation let alone start
