I love it! Stability is such an underrated aspect of this sport. Having someone who knows the team & the system long term is important. I'm looking forward to many great years with Altman @ the helm. He certainly knows what he's doing.

Kudos to Gilbert as well for not being afraid to spend. We have a title thanks to his willingness to do so (& LeBron of course).
one thing this franchise has not had in forever is stability, it seems every year was something new. LBJ got us that title but both times he left he left a shipwreck. Would like to see a consistent, stable franchise that makes the playoffs yearly because one of those years we are going far

This team is so young. We got a organically growing big 3, we need one more top shelf player probably at the wing or shooting guard.

There are some good teams in the east but most have flaws and I do not see a team with someone like a MJ that will constantly block us.

Baring things you cannot predict , the future looks bright, I thought we would be "here" next year.

Need that one more starter and strenghten the bench

There's a difference between changing GM's every 1-2 years with a quick hook, and giving each GM a fair chance to succeed. Yes, Dan didn't give second contracts, but he also never fired someone before their contract was up. in 17 years, Gilbert has had 4 GM's. Ferry had the job for 5 seasons, Grant for 4, David Griffin left after 3 years by his own choice, and he'd given Koby this fifth season. None of the former GM's have left Cleveland to have wild success elsewhere, so it's not like you can objectively say he was wrong not to extend those contract.

Stability for its own sake institutionalizes inadequate performance.

We could do a lot worse than Koby. He's made some very good decisions with JA, DG, and Rubio. He didn't overthink the no-brainer Mobley pick. The patience with KLove is aging better with time and I think the Markk move will also age well. He was quick to grab Rondo to fill for Rubio. Time will tell with other stuff but I think he's batting well above league average overall and he has developed lots of good trading partners and connections.

Koby took massive shit from many in the media for defending Love the way he did at his end of season press conference. But as was pointed out at the time, the reason he said that stuff was to back his player, and not pile on. Loyalty. It must have been nice for Love -- especially after the disaster of the Olympics -- to know that Koby had his back. Can't know for sure what role that played in his turnaround in attitude/effort/performance this season, but it sure as hell didn't hurt.

Rondo was a good idea in theory, but I think that move will end up as a rare whiff this season.

Not saying it's a disaster or anything, but Rondo clearly doesn't have much left in the tank. I suspect his PT will keep dropping as the 2nd half of the season progresses.

Lol, nope.

Made the defensive play to save the Kings game. You think Pangos or Goodwin is better?

Considering that we really didn't give up anything to get him, it's quite literally a no-downside move when any return at all makes it not a "whiff". We're 2-1 in the two games we've played on this West Coast road trip, and he's +5 in those three games, that looks like a decent return.

Way too soon to tell, plus there's the Pangos thing.

Sure. Rondo may yet surprise me. Who knows.

It's just been something of a shock to see he can't even make a simple layup these days. His athleticism is 90% gone.

When you make Ricky Rubio seem like Steph, you're gonna have trouble finding passing lanes.

My worry with Rondo is this is the bounciest & quickest he will be. He's had a lot of rest this year. What is he going to have left in March? I hope he can make it. I'm worried he won't.

It's just that the bar is really damn low for it to have been a good move.

Given that we got Rondo for basically free, he'd literally have to be worse than Pangos for it to be a "whiff"
