Did Koby Altman nail the rebuild?

Even if there were zero tangible results of Rondo helping the team, having a player with his experience and acumen is absolutely invaluable for a guy like Garland's development.

I listened to Jared Dudley talk reverently about how much of a savant Rondo was, and he focused on their film sessions to illustrate his point. The way Rondo would break the game down and point things out that nobody else could floored him, and Dudley up to that point had been doing this A LONG TIME.

So even if the Rondo acquisition ends up looking like a giant "meh" when it comes to its effects on this particular season, I'm confident that it will overall positively impact Garland's approach to the game.
Totally agree. I want Rondo watching film with all the young guys. I hope Sexton is still studying film while he rehabs

Thought I’d bring this thread back.
Koby killed it finding Stevens and Wade via 2-way deals. They started this year probably 11 & 12 on the depth chart, both on minimum, non-guaranteed deals, and both guys have stepped up when called on. We’d have a few more losses without them.

I think it’s safe to put the “nails the rebuild” on the shelf now.

can he now nail a contender build?

We’re 3rd in the East and 1.5 games out of 1st place. Call me crazy, but aren’t we contending now? I thought this team was a year away from a legit Finals run, but I might’ve been wrong.

“If they get shooting, they’re unbeatable.”

“Need to get Terence Ross, give up this year’s first”

“With shooting, they have no weaknesses. Can beat the best team in the NBA on their home court.”

We’re still a major tier behind Warriors and Suns. Before beating the Bucks we’ve struggled mightily against top teams, but we on the way

I’m not giving up a 1st for Ross. We have an elite shooter in Garland and Love, Osman, & Markkanen aren’t far behind.

Struggled as in losing, yes, but, not struggling as in getting blown out. We recently beat the Nets & Bucks and almost beat the Jazz. This team is just continuing to grow in their confidence and how well they play together. I’m not putting limits on them.

Honestly with Rubio yes, possibly. Too many inconsistent shooters for now and Allen, Garland Mobley etc have shown signs of getting worn out when playing many games. Don’t junk we stand much of a chance against a healthy Nets or Miami or even Bucks

How can you say that when we just easily beat a healthy Bucks squad by 16?

You obviously haven’t bought into this team. For you it doesn’t matter what they do this season.
Perhaps you should change your prism. Making the playoffs, and especially a scenario where they skip the play in games, is a quantum leap for this team and franchise. Depending on seeding, they could be looking at the second round. Whether they win a series against the elite East teams in the primes is not relevant this season.
When you starting 5 is not in their primes, or in some cases not close to it, requires patience.

I don’t really like Ross and I do think we need more than just shooting. We need someone who can create their own shot in the half court.
