I forgot about that spike if koby stays the course he can turn this team around into a warriors like team crazy how far this team has come since 2018. I woudve never imagined have this type of roster I’m excited

One thing that was underrated. Koby got this done before people realize how good our team is. Once you get to a certain level, teams don't want to make you a legit contender and asking price goes up where you have to gut your team. Koby pre-empted that, and got the 4th star as soon as he could while preserving depth and the core players.

His opportunism has been excellent. He is getting that reputation of "getting shit done". It really sounded like Ainge was willing to do the deal because Koby was going to make it happen instead of jerking the him around. Leon Rose was playing games while Koby was getting down to business and making it work for both parties, as well as doing good by Sexton and finding him a home where he was wanted and would pay him. He said the same thing about the Jarrett Allen deal. Brooklyn called him because they needed an unprotected pick and they knew he would give them that pick because he had already called about Allen.

He makes his wishes known and put his picks and money where his mouth is.

That being stated, you cannot be mad at the move either. He has rebuilt this team and on paper, made it a team to beat. The team is a mix of legit young guys and solid veterans. The veterans are also the backups, not the starters as well. I am not exactly sure how SF is gonna play out, but find a team with a better comparable 1-2-4-5 out there. I feel like as long as Cleveland doesn't find the injury bug like they did last season, most teams are circling when they face Cleveland and going "oh shit, we will have to pull out all the stops to beat them" Any fan wants the opposing team to feel that way about their team. You ain't coming into any of the Cleveland sports teams anymore and thinking it's an easy win. I think Koby has done his job. Now his job kind of does ride on how much they win with Mitchell, but on paper, it looks like he did what he needed to do.

Koby won this trade. The 3 1st will be in the 20s. And he gave up Sexton who he wanted to get rid of anyways. Lauri was the only negative because we needed his spacing.

Wayne is a legend but gonna be haunted by that Harper for Ferry Deal. Even if ownership dictated that Harper was to be traded, as has been reported, Embry still made the horrible deal with the Clippers. Trade Harper for an actually good NBA SG or SF and the Cavs may have gotten by Jordan a few of those years

I don't think Koby gave up too much. He had to strike when the door was open. If Utah would have gone back to the Knicks one more time this deal wouldn't have happened. Altman did what he needed to do, at the exact moment when he needed to do it.

Danny Ainge lost the Kyrie Irving trade. The assets we received from that trade were partially responsible for our current roster. Irving did nothing for Boston.

I was thinking about this. When the Cavs decided to go after Mitchell, Rich Paul basically had to come to a deal with Utah for Sexton's contract. Let's say Rich Paul couldn't come to a deal with Utah but the Cavs could still trade for Mitchell. Sexton then has a even smaller role if the Cavs decide to still keep him. Worst case scenario for Sexton is they rescind his QO and he is left in free agency no man's land trying to find a team with any money to take him in.

Koby could have added LeVert in for Sexton if necessary but that wouldn't have made it a better situation for Sexton to prove his worth. If it was another trade, let's say for a SF, I'm not sure it's so cut and dry that Rich Paul and Sexton would have been attached or as willing to negotiate with the other team. 18 million a year is still about where I thought the Cavs and Sexton would have negotiated especially with the rumors that Cedi was being shopped.
