Kyrie Trades.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Brogdon kind of is what he is given his age. Parker is coming off a second ACL tear. And Middleton... I'm just not a super huge fan of his. He's good, but hes, and never will be great.

Lord and if people suggest the same thing about Irving in his 6th year, people lose it. "HE'S ONLY 25!" they say.

I dunno man. We aren't trading a franchise player here....

I actually think the team I like the most is Charlotte.

Getting Kemba who has improved his shooting, ball-handling, and has a knack for clutch moments and big-time shots intrigues me. Whether or not you do a direct deal with Charlotte for Kemba and other pieces (MKG, Monk, future firsts) or a three-way with CHA and NY.

For example, I just threw this together:

Cleveland trades: Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert, and Channing Frye
Cleveland receives: Kemba Walker, Carmelo Anthony, Frank Kaminsky, and future first round draft pick (CHA)

Charlotte receives: Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert
Charlotte trades: Kemba Walker, Michael-Kidd Gilchrist, Frank Kaminsky, and future first round draft pick

New York trades: Carmelo Anthony
New York receives: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Channing Frye

Maybe you see something more in him than I do. But Ive seen Kyrie improve basically every year since he came in the league as a 19 year old kid. I've seen him win games in the playoffs almost by himself. I've seen him turn into a near unstoppable offensive player. I think we all think he can only get better because that's what we've seen him do.

Brogdon's first year in the league was good. But that's all it was. I didn't see anything from him that leads me to believe he becomes anything more than a solid role player. And here's the kicker: he's only 9 months younger than Kyrie. If Brogdon were doing this at 19-20, my attitude would be far different.

And I'm not trying to shit on Brogdon. If Parker didn't have the two ACL tears, and the Bucks threw in a pick, I'm all over that deal. A healthy Parker, Middleton, Brogdon and a pick??? Yes please.

But with Parker coming off a second ACL injury not even able to play until February at the earliest? I don't consider him an asset. So then you're looking at Khris and Brogdon as the main pieces. Two fine, hell, championship level role players. But that's really it.

Man... that Parker knee injury is such a bummer too. I'd be ecstatic to see how those three meshed with what the Cavs have.

I know we wouldn't be getting a star player or young stud in return but I think that I was just so disappointed in our defense last year, that I am somewhat talking myself into a deal with the Clippers if they also added in Lou Williams and a future 1st. This would be a win-now trade, but would help for multiple years if LeBron stayed. We aren't getting near Kyrie's worth but this would make our defense and bench scoring so much better.

Kyrie, Shump, RJ, Tavares, Felder

for

Jordan, Beverly, Lou Williams, Draft pick(s)

I'd start Beverly so Rose could run the 2nd unit and LeBron wouldn't have to. I think Beverly is a better fit offensively with LeBron anyways because he's a solid spot-up 3 point shooter.

Beverly
JR
LeBron
Love
Jordan

Rose
Lou Williams
Korver
Frye/Green
TT

Cedi
Frye/Green

Tell me I am crazy and talk me out of this because I know how great Kyrie is, but that roster there just looks so damn good and fits together nicely in opinion. The thought of having a defensive anchor next to Love is very appealing to me. I would HATE watching the Hack-a-Jordan though

A beverly/Jordan swap is something Id greatly consider if LeBron would tip the franchise off that hes staying. Otherwise, Jordan has one year remaining, I can't do it.

I'm firmly against any trade in the East unless the Cavs get an absolute can't miss offer. I'm DEFINITELY not pairing Kyrie up with Giannis or any rising star in the East.
I make literally any trade with any team that improves us as a team. We just grilled Pritchard for being an incompetent dope. I don't want to turn around and be incompetent as well

Super surprised to hear this from you.

I am in the "I'll believe it when I see it" mode about either Drummond or Jordan ever being able to win a championship as the third best player on the team. Unless your first 2 are Kawhi and LeBron and your 4-9 is pretty damn good too.

Jordan's career FT% is 43%. That is an expected points per possession of .86 equivalent of a flaming dog turd. We averaged 1.16 per possession in the finals. I genuinely don't believe you can win a championship with Jordan/Drummond being a key contributor. Kerr would probably love it if we got Jordan because it makes his job even easier

Not to mention we would have to find a suitor for TT and I think most teams are smart enough to know if we just swung for Jordan they can make laughably bad offers and we still gotta move him

I agree with this. It would be interesting to remake this team around a clear defensive identity and blending the slow half court pace of play with the ability to run off turnovers and long misses knowing that Love/Jordan is nearly a guaranteed rebound. Potential picks from a team built around Irving, Griffin, and an almost-out-of-touch Doc could be quite valuable as well.

However, we know LeBron isn't going to tip the Cavs one way or another and that makes a Clippers trade pointless.

The Charlotte trade above comes the closest to what I think we would actually entertain. I might be more interested in a simple Kemba/Gilchrist and future pick for Kyrie and Shump, maybe Frye. I am not a Melo fan.. Also this trade sets us up better if in fact Lebron decides to bolt. Kemba is a legit scorer on his own, and can carry a team. You are coupling him with Love/Lebron and a side dish of JR, I think the effective difference between he and Kyrie is not measurable. MKG however is a clear offensive upgrade to Shump, and could play 3 (resting Lebron or allowing LeBron to play 2 or 4 depending on the matchups). I think he and Kemba and Love would be a more effective non-James line up.

This trade would be an absolute robbery for Charlotte. The Cavs don't get any better in the short OR the long term making this deal.

Want 0 part of the worst defender in the NBA

We were lucky we got Love for Wiggins. Let's not ruin that luck by trading a superstar back for him

Based on what exacty.. i was looking at 82 gaes for stats..

Basically Walker has only slightly lower offensive per and a slightly better defensive Per than Kyrie, and he does not have James on the court (or Love for that matter) MKG is a clear upgrade to Shump. He is not as versatile, but he has an actual offense, as well as defensive ability.

And being that niether walker nor MKG are going to sniff a championship game, much less a ring as long as james and curry are playing, i think they will make more of the opportunity. We also wind up with a first and keep our other assets for further upgrade.

I do not want Wiggins, but he is not the worst defender in the NBA, example, I think Kyrie has a lower defensive rating.
