lyXo's Keys to the Game

* Production from the outside: we need to re-find the shot we once had. It made us deadly. Without it, we're last year's team. Damon Jones & Donyell Marshall must lead the way, with Sasha and Luke adding a few.

* Defend the perimeter: will we revert back to being the worst defenders of the arc tonight? Baron Davis, Derek Fisher, and Troy Murphy will test that. Being that they lack a decent post game, if we shut out the perimeter, we shut them out.

* Athletic freak Jason Richardson will be a handful for the now slow-footed Newble. Will LeBron be assigned the task through the course of the game? For post defense, this might be a must.

* And, as always: pound it to Z. Let him work his moves all over Adonal Foyle... inside, outside. It's our best weapon because they are weak in the post.

Final notes:
The Cavs are poor on the road. We have compiled a 5 game losing streak. It's going to be tough, but the Cavaliers should be on a mission. They have to come away from this trip with a W, and this is the place to grab it, with a confused GSW team, slumping after a great start. Don't let them back into the frey by letting Baron Davis light us up.

Prediction: High-scoring, high-octane game. Cavs take it, 114-106

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

Baron Davis wont play.

Cavs are tired of losing.

Cavs will win!

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

golden states not that good, and if u guys keep saying cavs are gonna lose LEAVE cuz u are not a true fan, i hope gooden gets back soon to...

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

Cavaliers lose, I'm a Cavalier fan but our team moral is on the ground right now. Still on the road, injuries are hurting the team..

Warriors 94 Cavaliers 83

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

Unless you're betting, or trying to explain to someone else how he should bet, I don't understand the point of the "Cavs will lose 103-96" talk. I'm more interested, as a fan, in hearing what other folks think they need to do in order to win.

Davis being out is a gift. Dunleavy can't handle Lebron. Newble can't handle Richardson. Golden State has a talented but inconsistent bench, as do we. With Gooden back, hopefully we'll get some better rebounding. Funny how the key to this game, for me, seems to be the same as it's been: get the ball to Z. Besides that, keep up the defensive pressure and run whenever possible. Murphy's been playing well lately. Having Gooden back should help negate that. Golden State lacks confidence, but they're desperate. It's ours to win or lose.

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

I'm looking for our starting five to match Golden States. If we can do this, then I cross my fingers and hope that Marshall and Jones refind their form from the bench and with a gentle sprinkling of Sasha we can surprise them with our bench play. This is a reach I know, but I guess I can state that we are due.

Ira Newble needs to repay Coach Browns faith by making Richardson's night tough. If he can get physical with him and times frustrate him, I'll be happy. Hopefully Henderson will be riding his confidense from the last outing and crash those boards and finish of those simple plays. Eric just needs to hit that occasional J, and keep a hand in Fishers face on the perimeter.

We all know Ilgauskas's and James's role. They need to maintain this and again we'll be in this when it matters. Hopefully we can learn from past experiences and make some plays. I'm not betting, but I feel a tad bit confident.

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

This is Gooden's hometown game, I'm sure its going to take a lot for him not to give it a go. We can dissect his shortcomings over and over, but one of them is not his heart. He is a gamer.

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

Ok then..

Jones and Marshall continue their less then top notch shooting. J-Rich goes for around 30+, they out hustle us on their own floor, the Cavaliers fall behind early, foul trouble hampers Z most of the night and LeBron can't carry the Cavaliers to a victory.

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

I expect a blow out here. No more playing around for the Cavaliers. Business will be settled TONIGHT!

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

GS without Davis is not good enough to hang with the injured cavs. He is the ignition for the team and as his game goes so they go. Derek Fisher can rain threes, but with snow on him he will be dribbling for dear life. Mike Dunleavy is simply red meat for LeBron and Adonis Foyle couldn't handle a one legged Z. Henderson (if he plays at all like at denver will be a draw) with Troy Murphy.

That leaves Richardson versus Ira. Hypthetically, Ira is our defender, but I think he is still slow and not back into the speed of the game. Sahsa is the best physical opposition for Richardson, or we could bring Luke and put him on Dunleavy and let Lebron take on Richardson.

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

Donyell Marshall steps up against his old team with 15+ points, Cavs win. They're still trying to work Pietrus back into the lineup, and neither Foyle nor Diogu are consistent at center. Fisher is so much better as a 6th man than a starter. This team's taking a step back in time without Baron, and we know how bad that was. It's up to Yell to drive the dagger tonight.

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

I expect some physical play the rest of the road trip....maybe some hard fouls, a fight, or Brown ejection might be in order to pull the team together. Our team needs to get a chip on its shoulder and play with some fire....play with some pride.

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

U Know What The Cavs Are Pissed, Well I Woul Be, So I See Them Going Out Tere Kicking Ass Nd Taking Names And Winning Big 167-12 Lol I Wish But I Think Wait I No We Will Win... 93-84...

Re: Cavaliers @ Warriors

Wow, no one here? OK I'll commentate. Z with the jumper from L side of the key and Snow hits 1 early, that can only be good.
