L Cavaliers 98 Sixers 100 -Pre Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Who would of thought ekeezie was the guy mike brown was looking for.

Nice game. Hangin in there without James. Will you guys be able to watch the Milwaukee game on TV? I'm planning on going down to the Bradley Center even though Lebron is out with a sore titty. I'll give you guys a scouting report on your player's performances if you guys are unable to get a visual. I'm wishing you guys some luck this season. It's time for some new blood at the top of the conference!

^ Beats me. Unless that play was a last resort (because Wilks had trouble getting the ball in), I don't know. The only way you would voluntarily make that play is if you're trying to bluff the other team and do the unexpected.

they don't play any of the games on reg. Tv. Some get on league pass.

Wilks and Hamilton put their hands up for a roster spot

Luke Jackson falls from grace with his jumper.

Hughes is very streaky as expected.

Ilgauskas has had a quiet start to the season.

Snow was the better point first half, Jones the 2nd.

No Jahidi White again. He needs to get on court.

Iverson can play some!

IMO... None of this means anything..Everybody will and should be streaky...

For god Sakes, DARKO has had a good game

Preseason = Scrimmage upgrade

Hamilton had a good game. White not playing is not helping his case. Did not Filiberto this time.. Can't believe the poor shooting all around. Larry and Luke a combined 8 for 31 (25%)... Four Turnovers for Jones is not helping him either.. Gooden 11 boards in 19 minutes, gooden uff...

First of all, White's absense only says one thing to me. Poor conditioning. This guy has a history of conditioning problems and it obviously has not changed. You guys are adamant about needing that 5 minutes of "toughness" on the team, well Hamilton is the only one that looks competent. And if we NEED that 5 minutes of having an athletic pg, then get Wilks.

I don't want White anymore. I don't even want to see him play. He just hasn't taken care of himself.

I am not suprised at any lack of offense execution, nor am I worried about it. Brown has said over and over they are not worried about offense right now, they are working hard on defense. Larry and Luke and Marshall and Damon not clicking offensively is because they have never played together before and have not really practice offense together yet either.

This team has offense, I am not going to let 3 preseason games tell me it doesn't.

Sad to see:
- Poor shooting night by Luke: You have so much more to your game than a 1-9 from 3 point range.
- Iverson shooting 50% from the field with 30 points: it should be 40% if we can claim defense, we need to make it tougher
- Hughes shooting poorly
- 49 boards, 20 assists
- No PT for Rivera
- 64.7% from the charity stripe
- 39.3% FG, Luke & Larry combined for 8/31

Glad to see:
- Gooden with 11 boards, 7 on the offensive glass, where it counts
- Hamilton being extremely solid this game: will he be able to continue it?
- Hughes stepping up offensively after being silent the past two games
- Donyell Marshall continuing his consistency
- A loss. No really, we needed a good wake up call to know we're still mortal
- LeBron out of the hospital. (DNP-Pleurisy?)

Notes on Philly:
Stephen Hunter would have been a cool retention in that Orlando trade... too bad he didn't want to play for us. If we wanted a backup big that's an inside presence, he would be it. Trading Battie for Gooden, Varejao, AND Hunter? That would have been the steal of the century.

Nailon being a good scoring punch off the bench is nice to see. But Marshall is much, much nicer.

Surprised to see Korver get his points, and grab some boards and assists as well. I guess he has to thank us for bricking it so much.

Overall a poor, poor shooting night. And a fairly poor defensive outing on AI. We need to figure out what to do if we brick it like this a lot. But once LeBron returns, we'll get back into a rhythm.

Actually this was the first really non defense game we have played. Held other teams in the 80's, so something was let down here. I think Lebron being out set Larry loose offensively( though he didn't connect much), but tough to get it done at both ends of the floor. It will be curious to see if the defense tightens up again when the king returns...

although cavs lost i thought they played every well and since AI played almost the whole damn game aganist alot of the cavs backups i thought we held pretty good.

Brown was livid at their lack of agressiveness.....especially at home. He wanted that one bad. The players are lucky today isn't a practice day. Hopefully they'll bounce back tonight.

WHAT I SAW...I was at the game..

Luke's jumper is still flat. He isnt getting enough air so he is clanking it every time..

Our back up big battle will turn out to give us a quality big man, both bigs like to bang and throw their weight around. They arent terrible on D, but they have a hard time with rotation. Both are veryy limited on offense. but they bang and have size, which is the key.

Marshall lives in that corner, lol...he is always sitting out there. But his J is milk and cookies out there.

Damon Jones is a jokester. I dont like this guy at all, he is out there clowning around, not playing defense, his J is no where near as good as he thinks it is. Snow has won the starting job easily if Jones keeps up what he was doing last night. He got crossed TWICE and just left for dust, AI was getting easy bucket after easy bucket, pull ups, step backs and driving on Jones. While Snow was making him work pretty hard. Snow should easily be the starter.

Gooden, you people are going to LOVE Gooden. This dude hustles more than anybody on the roster. He is ALL over the place. He has worked on his offense and seems to have added a couple more power moves, but he only got lost on D once, but when the shot goes up, he is determined to get that rebound. I love that in him...

Azebukee sp? Is a nice little player. He goes to the rack very hard, has a nice little jumper. I wouldnt be surprised to see him make the roster and split time with us and the D Leagues.

I was VERY impressed with Wilks. He is quick, he can finish, and he had two AMAZING drives to the hoop. He is going to make it hard for Brown to cut him. I would much rather have him handle the back up 1 than Jones. He is a farrrrrrr superior ball handler.

Henderson is a solid vet. Doesnt do anything amazing, plays solid D. Can get you a bucket on O, solid.

Z didnt play much, just toyed around with the defenders.

Marty saw a couple of minutes, he is so skinny, lol...he looks funny in person. He didnt really do anything, he wasnt out there that long.

Our defensive rotation is what we need the most work on. They were running screen curls and Korver was just eating it alive with a J or a kick to the screener for a bucket. They had some nice penetration and kicks late in the game that killed the run. So we need to work on screens and help side a lot.

Thats what I saw.

Jackson having a bad shooting night doesn't bother me. Everyone has one and he's shot pretty well in the 1st 2 games. What is a little bothersome is that Hughes and Jones haven't shot well in any of the preseason games. It doesn't matter yet but hopefully they pick it up.
I've preferred Jones starting over Snow but as of now Snow is showing he deserves to start more. Jones has to stop all the BS and go out and play. I hope he's not slacking off now that he's got his 1st big contract.

Judging from Brown's comments and his play in limited minutes, I have to think Wilks has probably made the team.
White has to play tonight against the Bucks. He's the favorite among the backup C candidates but needs to at least show something on the floor. Hamilton now has to have the lead at backup C. He is an active player but doesn't have as much bulk or strength.
