Re: Houston @ Cleveland

Also when you are getting outrebounded and Yell is shooting like crap in the first half why not play Drew who will at least board. Ugghh

Re: Houston @ Cleveland

For the first time this season, I'm also wondering about the coaching. Was it me or did Z have about 4 shot attempts in the first half? What happened to getting him going early? Ditto about taking out Newble (from previous post). And 29 three-point attempts is ridiculous. Brown needs to reign everyone in.

No need to panic, though. B2B, second night, even if it was at home, still trying to figure out wtf to do without LHuge. The answer, apparently, is not to jack 3's all night.

Re: Houston @ Cleveland

why did we keep jackin up threes after we knew we couldnt make them tonight? I really have no idea how we are going to do the next 6-8 weeks without hughes. We need to make a trade if we want to stay above .500

Re: Houston @ Cleveland

Live by the 3....die by the 3. 7 of 29 from 3pt range???? 8 of 18 from the free throw line? U kidding me???? Ughhh!

Who was that 14 year old Lithuanian-looking-guy on the court the last 7 seconds?LOL

Re: Houston @ Cleveland

A very good road win last night at Milwaukee is almost wasted after dropping a home game that should have been won.

Other than the D on T Mac, the defense was alright tonight. Offensively the Cavs looked lost tonight. Too little ball movement and player movement and too much standing around and jacking up 3's.
It's amazing you can forget you have an offensively talented 7-3 C for much of the game.

Jones and Marshall have to do more than camp out at the 3 point line. They're needed to hit those shots but they have to play a more versatile offensive game.

Although the Cavs didn't play too bad with the Wilks/Newble backcourt, I want to see that as little as possible. That has to represent the weakest offensive backcourt in the NBA.

I think Jackson showed enough in his 2nd quarter minutes to make him have a consistent part in the rotation while Hughes is out. I'd like to see him get 10-12 minutes a night. If Brown can live with Jones' poor D and cold shooting in recent games and can live with the little offensive threat that Snow, Wilks and Newble provide than he should be able to live with an occasional youthful mistake by Jackson.

Highlight of the game was the Marty A sighting in the last 30 seconds. He looked like he's bulked up a little. I guess he will get more court time than I will this season.

Re: Houston @ Cleveland

I honestly don't see this as a big deal losing to the Rockets(more on this later), what i had problems with is all the 3's and jumpshots, i think when snow went in for a layup in the 4th and the drive and pass was trying to give everyone else the clue to attack inside, which didn't happen and jump shot after jump shot kept happening. We scored like 20 points in the paint and that doesn't cut it, we aren't a Jump shooting team, actually i don't know what type of team this is, but i can tell you from the looks of it we just aren't that type of team. We could be a defensive team but when you take as many 3's and long jumpshots it's hard to become a defensive team because of long rebound, which leads to fast breaks, which makes it so hard to set up a defense.

Jones and Marshall Needs to produce with Hughes out, Luke did some good things the last 3 times i seen him play, For instance getting 2 offensive rebounds vs NJ and this game putting his hands up and deflecting the ball and moving on offense for a layup.

maybe try to bring him off the bench more often and see what he does, I rather see him on the court than Wilks who played way to much minutes for what he brings and it doesn't look like it's great defense, altho i wouldn't say it's bad. Not hating on wilks he just doesn't have a offensive game at all. Luke isn't terrible defensively but he can score and he brings energy, this is what we need until AV gets back, Luke can also slash and we need another slasher.

I would start Newble, Jones needs to come off the bench, he's not doing anything starting, he trys on the defensive end but not getting the job done, i rather someone who gets things done on the defensive end instead of someone giving nothing on either end. But Jones will continue to start, better hope he shoots the ball alot in practice and gets back in2 things and show why he should start.

Why Am i not that upset losing to Houston?

Because houston isn't a bad team like their record states, They were in the playoffs last yr winning over 50 games, they have been plagued with injuries and 14 games they have lost this season was without either Yao or T-mac(Mostly t-mac). They will be in the playoffs this yr.

Cavs are learning and i also agree with Charles that this team isn't a contender yet.

Re: Houston @ Cleveland

i hate these losses because all of our fickle fans start jumping off the bandwagon.

there's nothing wrong losing to houston. at least they are one of those teams that have won an nba title. not like losing to a team that has never won it all. and it was the 2nd of a back to back.

live by the three die by the three. wednesday we hit the threes and won. tonight we missed and lost. no secret there. that happens to jump shooting teams. if we're gonna celebrate when we're hot and making threes we've gotta accept losses like this because that is the other side of the double edged sword.

too bad about the missed foul shots. but normally we hit them better than that.

the tnt announcers gave us no love at all. steve kerr saying that we are not contenders and barklay saying that just because we have a good record does not mean that we are a good team. and then we go out and lose to a second tier western conference team that is missing yao ming and bobby sura. big deal. if houston was in the east, they would be barely out of the final playoff spot so they are not all that bad. and we are just learning how to play without hughes. and we have a new coach and a new gm and lots of new players and a new owner and our home arena has a new name, even.

it sure is roomy all of a sudden on this bandwagon.
