Lauri fits much better than Nance considering Nance is always injured. Love this trade

Lauri being able to play both center and PF while helping stretch the floor is big. The price is what I really don't like. I didn't want to give up Nance for a RFA.

I wanted to be able to use Nance to get a wing.

I don't get the trade. While having shootings bigs are always nice, it does not look like he can move over and play the 3. I don't get spending $16M+ a year on a 3rd big who will not start. While he is a good fit with our other bigs, we are paying him starter money.
16 mill a year is average salary for a shooting skillet

Lukewarm on the trade itself. Don't think it moves the needle too much either way.

But the public sentiment and media coverage of this trade will be waaaaayyyy more negative than it should be just based on the name-value of LNJ.

We have what? 44 million invested in 3 quality big men?

Allen - 20
Mobley - 8
Lauri - 16

Our average cost per rotational big is 11.3 million.

I'd imagine few NBA teams have 3 quality young bigs at an average price anywhere near that.

I actually like this. So you start Lauri/Mobley/Allen at the 3/4/5?
Maybe.

Garland, Sexton, Mobley, Lauri, Allen

That’s an interesting lineup. I’m not sure I like Mobley at the 3. He doesn’t move as fluid as a Durant, IMO, but he is smooth. I’d like to see it.

96 minutes to go around and 3 bigs to fill them, it probably doesn’t matter who starts as the 3 of them could be near equal playing time in the end. One thing I don’t think they should do is start them all together though.

Who do you all think Larry Nance is?? Lmao

HE's one of the best most versatile defenders in the NBA who was leading the league in steals last year and basically single handedly made the defense work. He was growing as a spacer and was the best possible advocate for Cleveland in the NBA

And yet the Cavs finished with the 4th worst record on league.

Take a step away and I understand who we're talking about. Larry Nance Jr is a rotational big, not even a starter. Can't shoot consistently enough, plus he's consistently injured

Playing him at the 3 would be idiotic. He is not a 3.

He wanted money and got it......there are plenty of minutes, so hopefully he is comfortable being a 6th man.

96 minutes at the 4 and 5.......pretty sure the trio will gobble up 99% of those.

The 4/5 spot can support 30+ for each guy, which is plenty to me.

He is also always hurt. And I will not miss him trying to be a pg. I get his affection for Cleve and wish him the best
