I am OK trading Laurie up for Donovan. We are taking a shot.. provided vnobody gets a season ending injury, it should make us a better team. And Koby has been brilliant at getting bigs on the cheap..

Understand right now that Laurie and Sexton are going to put up big numbers at Utah and people are going to freak out over what we gave up. Also understand that Utah will be terrible and in the NBA someone is going to score. They are the 2 dudes that will be encouraged to go get buckets and they are both offensively gifted enough to get a bunch. But gaudy numbers on a bad team does not mean they became different players than the ones we gave up.

It’s clear Utah didn’t want Okoro and he was the only other Cav Koby was willing to give up

Yeah, It's hard for me to read the reactions that have no empathy for what Utah could possibly take on.

They only have two NBA worthy bigs: Lauri and rookie Walker Kessler. Vanderbilt will move into third big. Certainly a chance Ainge flips Bogdanovic and Vanderbilt ends up the small forward.

Ainge loved Agbaji and was willing to solve our Sexton contract fiasco. How much more can you really ask the Jazz to do for the Cavs glut of shooting guards? They already have Clarkson and Talen Horton Tucker eating up guard minutes.

Wishing Lauri the best though, he gets to play more power forward and I'm sure his numbers on a bad team will be impressive.

Found this video with Markkanen having a 43-9-3 game in FIBA. I also saw 2 steals.

I just wish we could've kept him. Give up whoever else. Another first, Kevin love, okoro, levert, cedi. Not your 7 ft tall 3 pt shooting starting sf.

Lauri Markkanen said the trade that sent him to Utah was “kind of a shock."

“I didn’t hear anything before, I didn’t see my name in any rumors… It was emotional. I understand the business side of it, so I’ve got no hard feelings,” Markkanen said. “I thanked them for the opportunity that I had. But the first moments were really emotional for me, because we really liked Cleveland, and thought we’d found a home there.” Coming off a 6th-round campaign in 9-cat, Lauri has been generating a lot of hype as he’ll have a ton of usage with the Jazz and he just put on an absolute show at EuroBasket.

Is crazy how things change. Players actually emotional leaving Cleveland and excited to be brought to Cleveland. Koby turned this team around. But in terms of Laurie I’m going to miss the fucker he’s a baller and a true professional. Wish nothing but the best

I think Cleveland was the best place for Lauri from a professional and personal level.

This team, the city, fit his personality well from what our Finnish friends have said.

And it does suck losing him, and I think Koby really did not want to part with him.

It just so happens it was a deal he couldn't pass up and Lauri was the Cavs' best non-Big Three player.

But... who knows what may happen in the future.

He wanted to stay and he was good and I think he had upside.

It's a little sad because you could tell he was really happy that the Cavs wanted him when the Bulls had moved on. They were invested in his career and appear to have helped him hit another level.

It will be interesting what happens with his career. I personally think he was in the perfect circumstance in Cleveland and he will have a hard time replicating that.

There is something to this, by the way.

Patrik Laine, who a lot of people thought would be hesitant to going to Columbus, has loved his time in Ohio. I think something about Ohio might be reminiscent of southern Finland? Although, Lauri is from right outside of Helsinki while Laine is from Tampere

Marshal Markkanen had a pretty nice pre-season.

If he gets the usage, he may put up 20+/8 this year.

Sucks that Ainge would not budge on Lauri. Oh well.

I hope our Finnish friends have found a welcoming Jazz site.

yeah, early predictions show him being Utah's top scorer and rebounder. Hope it works out for him and Sexton.

I miss Lauri. Wish Utah would have taken LeVert.
