LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From The Ringer (my emphasis added):

"Rob Pelinka reportedly did not consider the salary cap thoroughly before signing off on the Anthony Davis trade. As a result, the team is pushing hard to pawn off its remaining contracts to other teams in hopes of creating enough cap space to sign a max free agent, and will need to acquire as many second-round picks as possible to: (1) fortify their bare-bones roster with cheap labor and (2) have the cap holds necessary to exceed the salary cap once free agency comes around. "

If that's true...what a behind the scenes shit show. Considering the salary cap thoroughly is like a GM's entire job. They managed the AD trade but do you actually trust that front office to maneuver to create an entire championship level roster? My guess is that Lebron is going to wish he was back with David Griffin before this is over.

They dont need another max player they need to build a roster of quality shooters and roll players. Even that wont be enough. Lbj is 35. Davis is injury prone and never played in pressure games. Lakers should have not traded for davis, kept the youth and added several quality but not max free agents. Especially after seeing GS was broken

Lebron doesnt do the play and grow with youth. Never has and never will. It is a shame because what you say is true, but it was never in the cards. He tried it last year and was miserable. That being said, cant the Lakers just do what the Heat did? Sign a 3rd superstar, then sign a bunch of Mike Miller type ring chasing vets and win that way? Well i guess back to your original point, he is 34 now, not 26. Lets hope it fails miserably.

What's really funny is seeing Lakers fans on their boards talk about how unstoppable Korver would be on the Lakers getting wide open looks from LBJ passes. Cavs fans know how that worked out in the Finals.

How did Pelinka even get that job?
The Buss family is a mess since Dad died. Jeannie is actually the smartest of the brood but she took a lot of the independence out of the organization with her relationship with PHil Jackson. Jerry West reportedly didn't like the relationship purely from a business standpoing (no fraternization) and was moved out. Once the framework dad and West built was taken away they've floundered. For 20+ years that was arguably the best run organization in sports with smart signings and winning trades plus the cache of LA to bring it together but they've not stuck to fundamentals.

I didn't expect Kirk Heinrich and Juwan Howard to be that high.

Time to help out Minny and keep DLo away from these douchebags.

LeBron already starting his "comeback" narrative on social media as if he is returning from Hodgkin's lymphoma or something.

Cavs fans, just be prepared for the inevitable speech about how "this is the most special championship of my career because of what I overcame for this great franchise" if he wins one with LA. It will be puke worthy, and it's the exact approach he will take.
