LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Two years $30 million for a 32 year old role player who averaged 10 ppg last year? That is fucking HORRIBLE

Today is one of the worst days in Lakers history, and it probably spells the end of Lebron’s hopes for another championship. What a complete humiliation!

As LeBron continues to age....one has to wonder how AD reflects on all this. He’s got as much skin in the game as anyone. AD could’ve grown with Zion and formed the most devastating front-court in NBA history, but he opted to follow LeBron and Rich Paul’s lead.....may go down as one of his worst decisions ever.

Gotta give Steve Ballmer some credit. He’s taken an albatross of a franchise, and made them more desirable than the Lakers, who are owned by one of the cheaper families in NBA.

I think a large part of the equation for FA’s is whether ownership has an appetite to go deep into luxury tax if necessary. You think Ballmer is scared of that? Fuck no.

Jeanie Buss? Fuck yes. She’s not going to do it.

Remember that AD has not signed a long term contract with the Lakers and will be a free agent next year. If he doesn’t enjoy playing with Lebron, Kuzma, and a bunch of aging mediocrities, if he doesn’t enjoy being on what is likely the second best team in LA, he can just leave. That’s a big reason this is such a bad situation for LA

And yeah, I said second best team in LA. AD is better than Paul George but the Clippers have WAY better depth and team chemistry than the Lakers. Think the Lakers are regretting that Zubac trade right now?

They’re gonna sign Rondo and Melo and it’s going to be hilarious. Also Lakers fans are delusional with Kuzma, dude is just a young Ryan Anderson and they act like he’s a 3 pt shooting KG. They’ll still be a top team but they probably aren’t even a top 3 favorite to win it all. Clippers, Philly, Milwaukee, maybe even Utah could be better than the Lakers.

Seems this thread has become more of the around the league thread sprinkled with some inane ramblings from whoever the hell DOTL is/was. For the overall health of the league this is great news. I hadn't heard any rumblings at all about the PG thing, maybe some of you more in the know were hip to it. The way these guys just force their way off teams is really funny, like the word "contract" in the nba has a completely different meaning than anywhere else. Great day for the league for sure . . .

@NIkeL — Not an overreaction. See my post about how AD can leave. Lakers just became second best team in their own city.

Lakers have paid a terrible price for alienating Jerry West. After leaving the Lakers dude built the Warriors and now the Clippers, while the Lakers made all kinds of mistakes. He was the secret all along.

One thing I will say — this is a great test for Lebron. He has always tried to make it easier for himself but always ended up with a very hard road. In Miami Wade and Bosh were injured and fell off a cliff after 2011, so he had to do it himself. In Cleveland, Love turned out to be mediocre and the Warriors built a super team. Now in LA he has just one other star and a bunch of mediocrities while the rest of the league is leveling up. If he can pull this shit off at 35 and make it to the Finals I will respect him

Man, i woke up to that, great news! Now basketball will be interesting this year. I do feel bad for Toronto. They barely had time to celebrate their title. Now its basically rebuild time. Not really sure i like how George forced his way to LA, but at the end of the day, the Lakers and Lebron got screwed in the deal, and the league will be competative, so its a good thing.

Toronto traded DeMar DeRozan for a championship...guess it’s worth it. And Valanciunas too when you think about it. Now they are in cap hell.

They aren't in cap hell. They sit at a million over the cap this year. They have one bad contract in Norman Powell and only 14 million in committed salary for 2020-2021. They have a ton of expirings and can build around Siakam, OG, and Vanvleet.

Ok I take it back

Toronto will be the most interesting team on how they rebuild going forward. They might be able to make a real quick rebuild by moving Lowry, Marc Gasol, and Ibaka by the deadline to a contender. I think they are a playoff team still and could surprise people in the playoffs like the Celtics did in 2018 if they get some nice young players back for their vets.

Anyone want to get a good laugh, check out a Lakers forum today. Total meltdown. Kawhi is a pussy now. They are actually whining and complaining how George forced his way out of OKC. Guess they forgot about AD. Special bunch those entitled Laker fans.

All those free agents..Lakers with that max slot..
No one wanted to play with LeBron.
A top player like AD couldn't even sway them. Thats bad.
Enjoy the weather. That's all you get.
