LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Duyum, but cmon nba gave that pick to lakers so they could get AD draft is rigged for sure lol
I don’t think it’s rigged because then why the hell would a team like Memphis ever get lottery luck but it is crazy how the basketball gods help teams. We got lottery luck post Lebron with Kyrie, NO got it after CP3 left and now post AD, and both LA and MN kind of got it when trading for AD and trading away K Love (I know the Wiggins draft luck is kind of a stretch to say it went MNs way but you get it.)

About the trade though, the Lakers really shouldn’t go after a 3rd star even though we all know that’s what’ll happen. They could fill out this roster with really good role players like a JJ Reddick or something instead.

Its a real boom or bust trade. Griff has to also nail his draft picks for it to come out looking good.

Pelinka showed his inexperence with how he gave the protections and pick swaps. Griff is able to defer the last pick in 2024 to 2025. He got two unprotected pick swaps and the first pick is reverse protected then unprotected. This is all stuff I thought GMs learn not to do after the Nets/Celtics trade.

The dumb thing though is there is no middle ground. If the Lakers are real good this trade will make Griff look bad and if the Lakers don't work out then it just pours salt all over their wounds. Pelinka didn't save many assets for when they will need to get role players to round this roster out.

Griff also didn't get that solid piece to build around. Lonzo, Josh Hart, or Ingram with his blood clot isn't anything close to a sure thing. #4 is a crapshoot too.
Tbf he already has that piece in Zion so put in that context it really looks much better. Instead of being the hopes and dreams of the franchise Ingram, Lonzo, etc can be looked at as guys who can grow and learn to play around the future star in Zion.

Holy shit people, we got 3 1st picks in 4 years very recently. We are literally the last people who should be complaining about the NBA lottery. No, it's not rigged, they got lucky, it happens, get over it.

PLUS we won the LeBron lottery which was the best draft to have the #1 pick since Lew Alcindor. Somebody will probably complain we didn't win that Alcindor pick and that the NBA rigged it for the Bucks (coin flip at that time).

Them getting Zion helps alot. Griff got alot of unknown pieces though. One solid known commodity could just have been a good trade for both sides and they wouldn't be tied to each other for the next 6 years.

I really think someone would have rolled the dice on AD. I think teams just needed to come off the hangover of Durant and Klay getting hurt, to realize a bold move like trading for Kawhi just got the Raptors an NBA Championship.

So the Lakers front office fucked up and they don't have enough space for a second max player this summer. I'm sure Bron is happy about it. :D

With that said New Orleans better not help them by moving the date from July 6 to July 30....July 30 would allow them to have a Max contract slot, not to mention the player that is drafted number 4 would technically be under the lakers property and therefore couldn’t play summer league for his new team....

Griffin needs to wait for Pelinka to get a verbal commitment during the moratorium period then ask him how much it's worth it to him to push the date back.

The dumbest thing the Lakers did was to buy out and stretch Deng's contract. That ate up $5 million in cap space that isn't tradable.

My guess is Rich Paul will force Caldwell-Pope to be the player in a double sign and trade so they can give a max salary to whomever wants to sign with them. Maybe Kuzma is the payment to do a sign and trade.

Unpopular opinion here, but i am not rooting against Lebron. I hope he does win a championship in LA now, in fact I hope he wins 2 yet goes into the hall as a Cav.

He has done more for NE Ohio than any other athlete ever. He left to make his family happy and business, I don't blame him as much this time.

He isn't always right, but he gets blamed for so much shit out of his control. He is probably the greatest athlete ever to play in Cleveland maybe including Jim Brown. He is part of a legacy of the greatest Cleveland team in 50 years. I just don't hate the guy, He gave me a championship and he didn't have to come back to do it but he did.

I heard Griff on his Sirius /XM show awhile back saying stretching is the worst thing to do because there's no way to get rid of dead money. Even a relatively small amount of dead money could be the difference between making a deal or not.

I don’t care who wins as long as it isn’t the Warriors. Tbh that’s it. If I had to pick I’d say the Bucks just because Giannis really seems like a good guy.

Is it true that Unibrow can decline his trade kicker, and if so how does that play into this equation, timing-wise and otherwise?
