I'd add that as ugly as Lonzo's shot is, he improved to 38.3% from three this season on 6.5 attempts/game. And he's improved that shot every year.

I rather like Lonzo. He seems like a really humble, hardworking guy, and I like how he has worked on his game. Very good defender, good passer, accurate (thought not fast/high release) shooter from outside.
I'm not sure which thread I mentioned it in, but I'd love Lonzo here.

Cavs considers Wiseman,Lamelo and Edwards top tier players in the draft.
I'm really skeptical about Koby being that transparent. In a draft like this one, with noconsensus on top players, teams are going to prefer different players. That opens up trade possibilities with teams who want to snag "their" guy. I think the Cavs would have a lot of smoke screening going on....

He is the perfect pg for both sexton at sg and KPJ, who could easily start at the 3 with a pg who can guard 3, and sometimes 4 positions. Sexton's defense would look stronger sandwiched between 2 good defenders. Pick a pf/c this year, trade garland and a 2nd rounder for Lonzo or future 1st if we must, and I like that young core including Nance too.

yep, no way they show their hand in this one at least not this soon and even when they do know where they are picking they are not telling anyone who they are targetting without using that information as means to aquire a veteran or something which seems unreasonable at this stage.

hate to say it but DG aint got that kind of value right now. If he even remotely shows improvement next season though why would you trade him anyway at that point at worst he gives you a high iq bench scorer. he is either going to become an elite shooter that locks in the starting job or he was an overpick that nobody will trade a better player for especially not without more assets than a bad 2nd returning

I really admire him. I think his dad was an overbearing self-promoter who dominated his sons. But Lonzo seems to have the balls to stand up to his old man, and make his own way. That takes an unusual strength of character.

Yeah makes sense to me. Whether they want Melo or not, he is the one guy you could see being used to trade down.

It's just what do we do with our guards if we draft Melo?

Sexton, Melo, Garland, etc...

Eh, it might not be that bad.

Comparisons are tough, but a lot of these just don't make much sense. Ball -> Young, Hayes -> Dragic, Avdija -> Bogdanovic, and Wiseman -> Bosh are all ridiculously bearish in terms of physical tools.
I don't think they were aiming as much for a comparison of physical tools as they were a comparison of their roles on a team. I actually liked that approach. Normally, you'd look at Trae Young and LaMelo Ball and say they're nothing alike because they're so different physically. But in fact, other than Young being a better shooter, it seems pretty apt. Great vision and passing, terrible defense, high-volume scorer.

LaMelo has a bit of a "look like Tarzan/play like Jane" vibe about him.

I guess I see what you're saying...I do think they're similar caliber prospects. I'm just thinking if you actually put Trae's skills in Lonzo's body, he's a runaway #1 pick (and conversely if you put Lonzo's skills in Trae's body, he's probably not an NBA prospect). Similarly for Wiseman and Bosh; Wiseman's whole deal is that his physical dominance makes up for his raw skills. Bosh was never too special physically, but was extremely skilled for a PF/C type. Similar caliber prospects, but you'd never confuse a Wiseman scouting report for a Bosh scouting report.

Weisman is a poor mans ayton. He’s nothing special. Not in 2020.

Given his lack of tape from this past year, Wiseman and his camp are really trying to push the narrative that he's a do it all kind of big. He's out there talking about watching Giannis, and he has people saying he can shoot from anywhere.
