Nothing slimy about it when guys are open and he won’t deliver the ball and pump faked like 3 times to take a sack
Stefanski said Chubb didn't get many touches because he was banged up. Meanwhile, with a straight face, he said his QB with a torn labrum, crushed shoulder socket, and bad heel is healthy enough to play as TJ Watt tees off on him over and over.

Who is the coach here? Stefanski or Mayfield? If it's Stefanski, he should have benched him for his own good and seen if Keenum could get it to those receivers instead. The fact that he didn't is slimy.

In all the talk about Watt and 9 sacks, it's easy to overlook that the Browns pressured Ben at least as much as the Steelers did Baker. Ben just got rid of the ball more quickly. They showed a graphic at one point that Ben was releasing the ball in under 2 seconds. The trade off was lots of short passes. Ben dropped back 48 times and threw for 2.7 yards per attempt. Mayfield dropped back 47 times (including sacks) and threw for 4.9 ypa. Ben's longest completion was 13 yards to his running back. Baker had passes of 20, 21 and 39 yards. Ben avoided costly sacks that ruined drives and kept his team out of long distance plays. Baker didn't.

My friend this is the NFL we're talking about here.

If your QB can't make a play like this? Then his limitations are far too extensive to justify him being on your roster long-term.

We're not talking about overly complex stuff here. Really high level guys like Mahomes execute passing concepts that have multiple layers and variations and then option routes on top of that. Baker's head would explode if a coach asked him to do anything like that. Stefanski has dumbed this offense down to the most boring and predictable level he can to try and give this guy the easiest and most basic reads he can and it still isn't enough.

That is the dirty little secret that people who bash Stefanski don't want to admit is that the Browns don't run the kind of really creative stuff Shanahan and Kingsbury and Reid like to run because Baker can't execute that type of stuff, not because Stefanski is likes a offense that's nothing but boring slants, flats and sticks.
That is a damning video.

I could have made that throw for a first.

We’ve seen this so often this year, Baker staring at a wide open target and he just can’t pull the trigger. If Stefanski has to dumb down the offense (like others have mentioned) just for this guy to have a chance at success then get him off our team. These are the easiest completions to make and he still can’t do it. So done with Baker.

DPJ clearly ran the wrong route on that play which caused the hesitation from Baker, and so did Higgins.

I have seen people mention the only way out of Bakers money next year is via trade. Who would be the teams that might have an interest?

Saints might be an option. I haven’t seen much of Hill to know if Mayfield would be an upgrade or not. WFT probably needs a QB. They may prefer to go the draft route however. I feel as if a lot of teams are looking for a QB. There will be some interest in Baker. It just boil down to compensation of course. Denver is another potential option.

There are a lot of teams with worse QBs - both NJ franchises for starters.

No guarantee we can obtain a better QB than Baker for next season. I would want to see us get a better QB1 before disposing of Baker.

Saints, Giants, Broncos, Football Team, Panthers, Falcons, Texans, Lions

Then there are the teams who may potentially trade away their veteran QB like the Vikings, Seahawks, Raiders who would then need someone too.

There will be no shortage of QB needy teams.

Go look at Bitinio comments midseason. He pretty well said we are seeing loaded boxes every game and it is tough to run when there is more people to block then blockers. No one cared if we threw the ball cause they knew we couldn't beat them that way. You cant establish the run with 8 guys in the box. If any top 10 QB saw the defenses we were seeing they would of thrown for 500 yards and 6 TDs every game.

I also think they can load the box because we have no deep threats to stretch the field north to south. Schwartz could get separation but couldn't come down with the ball. DPJ just doesn't have the speed to get separation. The safeties didn't have to worry about either of them.

Also our offense seem to be at it's worse when Hunt was out. I think Hunt is one of a handful of players that has the elite attributes to be able to stretch the field east to west in the NFL.

Basically without Hunt and a deep threat we became team that opposing defense could condense the field to stop the power run, close throwing lanes, and make the catch windows even smaller.

Agreed. Good part about WR being our biggest hole (besides the QB dilemma) is that it's arguably the easiest thing to shore up.

Hell, one superb addition can change the entire dynamic of the room by moving our #2 and #3 receivers masquerading as #1s back to where they belong.

Add a high draft pick and a decent free agent? Boom, fixed.

I want to go after Mike Williams. I think he is less risky than going after Godwin since Godwin is coming off surgery.

I also wouldn't hesitate to use our 1st round pick on a WR. I think this is a good class of WRs.

My cheap low risk high reward swing would be Dede Westbrook. If he can fill the role of a deep threat for this team, it will be money well spent.

I still believe in Schwartz's potential. I've seen enough clips of him getting separation deep that I believe he could still develop into something. We just didn't seem to take a lot of deep shots this year. And I'm sure Baker lost trust in him after his rough start to the year.

I really hope Schwartz can develop into a Will Fuller or DeSean Jackson deep threat. Maybe not as good as those guys, but fills in that role. He's on a cheap contract so he'll have time to prove it.

I have always believed in the potential of a Schwartz.
