I bumped the Rant thread from two years of inactivity as that thread was designed to blow off steam from bad play - rationality not required. So here’s a thread for irrational hype.

Cavaliers have taken the season series from the Sixers and Nets with players missing on our team. Once we get healthy, we can take those teams in the playoffs. Look out LeBron - we‘ll see you in the Summer!

I like where this team is headed. Like I said in another thread, the Jarrett Allen trade is a game changer. I thought the Cavs where in trouble when they had to get rid of KPJ. That said, we somehow got blessed with that Allen trade.

I think this team as currently constructed can make a playoff push as soon as this year. By next year, chemistry will be much improved so we should be even better. Also, Bickerstaff is a solid coach. Let him grow with the team. We need stability in the coaching department as well.

I think the Cavs have something special brewing.

We'll have our full MLE this upcoming free agency that can be used to add another piece. I'm looking at guys like Malik Monk & Kendrick Nunn. I think we can get one of them with that MLE of ours.

I was saying it when we were in our funk and I'm sticking too it now that we're playing well again: I really like our young core. I think we're one great draft pick & some shrewd win-now moves around the edges away from having a very competitive that can make some noise in the playoffs in a few years.

Fantastic game from Okoro tonight. Showing the signs of being the guy his supporters here think he can become.

I raved about it when the trade was made but actually seeing it night-in and night-out ... Allen couldn't be a more perfect 5 for this team. He's everything we need in a center without any of the stuff that make guys like Drummond a nightmare to deal with. A lot of talk in the last week about whether or not he is our "best young player." To me, that conversation misses the broader and more important point -- which is, he's 100% the right player. The Nets did us an incredible service. Now, he's going to get paid. We need to prepare ourselves for that. But I think he is that important in actually making the rest of our pieces work on a potential perennial playoff team.

Keeping Jarrett will go a long way to making the SexLand backcourt hit their potential ceiling and he creates a nasty defensive 1-2-3 combo with Okoro and Larry.

That brings me to point #2 -- Larry Nance Jr. is going to be awesome when he gets healthy. He fits that 4 role p-e-r-f-e-c-t-l-y on both sides of the court with our other four starters.

With some time together to work out the kinks, this is going to be a SEXY starting five.

they need another wing. preferably someone who can generate a shot for his teammates and they could really use a change of pace PG off the bench.

Okoro has balls the size of Mars’ moons. He took a charge against Joel Embiid.

I don’t want to make trades of our young players just yet. I love their resilience, perseverance and tenaciousness. Watching them play tonight - how did they hang with so many players out and us having to go to the end of the bench to find a starter?

It would have been natural to be dejected after a brutal road trip and ten game losing streak but they’ve regrouped around a new starting five. Wade has been great.

Allen was overmatched early on but his youth and energy eventually allowed him to make plays against Godzilla.

Garland had an awful shooting night but never gave up and got shots to fall at the death.

Sexton kept attacking even though he got blocked and kept running into the teeth of that defense.

Holland played good D late after Okoro fouled out. Windler has a tough night with Simmons draped on him but he’ll be fine. McGee and Dotson pitched in.

I just love how these guys ball out. Once they learn more they’ll play even better as a team, but tonight was a great team effort and proved the last two wins were not a fluke.

Keeping Allen won't be an issue. I think his value is going up, he might wind up with 25-30 per year at this point. But money isn't an issue with this team. Gilbert is the second richest owner in the NBA. They can go deep into the tax & it won't be a problem whatsoever.

past 3 games have given me 2016 flashbacks.

Bumping this after tonight’s destruction of New York. We’ve won too many road games to be considered a fluke. This team is a legit contender for a 6 seed at least. We’re doing major damage with pieces missing. This team is having a blast and playing great team BB on both ends of the floor.

Playoff team. Book it!

Man I don’t want to fully buy in yet but goddam this team is playing their collective ass off and killing it. Just enjoy it while
It’s going on!!

And doing it in different ways too. Tonight was rubio and mobley, the other night it was darius. Too consistent in winning to be called a fluke.
