Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Good news is, we’re now the 3rd worst record in the NBA. Get those higher lottery odds baby!!

Bad news is, we’ll probably slide to 5 in the lottery and somehow, someway Altman will find a way to screw this draft up and reach yet again.

I’m not here to defend Altman.

But has our issue really been reaching or our post lotto draft positioning.

We have not been in position to draft any of the premium universally praised lotto talents over the past 3 years.

Now, could other picks have been made that would have been accepted at that time or that look good now in retrospect? Certainly. But I’d argue against any of our last three lotto picks being big reaches.

It's official!

The factory of sadness has been moved to the Rocket Mostgage FieldHouse....

Urban Meyer used to talk about getting players who would make the coaches look good.

You can scheme and scheme, but sometimes players just need to go make plays.

Sometimes NBA players just need to start making a fucking shot. Actually, sometimes they need to make a few in a row and change the course of the game.

Cavs got a million open looks tonight and still shot like a highschool team.

That's on the players, including the young ones.

And thats on Altman for his inability to identify and prioritize shooting.

I'm all about contrarian tactics and going against the grain. Especially as a small market team.

But the 3P revolution is a fact of life. There's no getting around it. You need to shoot well to win.

Do we have any winners on this team? You know, guys who really, really, really hate losing to the point they refuse to accept it.

Whether we pick at 1 or 5 or even 6 there will be a good player available for us. This is a good draft with lots of solid prospects. If Okoro was in this draft I doubt he goes in the lottery.

Correct, he would definitely not go lottery. Too much talent in this draft.

We absolutely, positively need a legit wing prospect. Kuminga or Cunningham would be phenomenal for us and our future.

The 3pt revolution is very basic maths

This team isn't even fun to watch anymore. Oh well... Injuries (or sort of injuries) have really brought this whole thing down. I realize we had a tough stretch of competition, but a fighting team (even depleted) would have won at least a few of those games.... it feels like we've thrown in the towel. I guess I wouldn't care if we lost as much if they seemed like they were giving their all, improving, etc... but it feels like we are digressing on all fronts. Everyone is playing worse than before, everyone is caring less... not particuarly exciting.

Maybe getting Love and what not back in will help spark something. Otherwise, not a ton to be excited about. Probably starts with the coaching too....

Why is Cedi Osman getting any minutes at all? He stinks and showcasing him won’t help his value.

Okoro was a reach! Drafting two undersized guards in back to back years was a terrible move! I’m not saying Sexton and Garland aren’t good players but Koby was banking on a Lillard/McCollum clone and shit the bed!

Okoro's size is the biggest issue for me. If they were willing to bring in another guard it should have been Haliburton. Okoro doesn't make Garland and Sexton anymore playable and he just makes us that much smaller of a team if they play him at SF. Also having a SG that can't handle the ball at all really limits this team.

I can't even figure out if Okoro was BPA in the front office eyes or he was pick for fit banking on KPJ to be one of our top 3 scorers.

In terms of roster building, I just don't know the direction Koby is going in or if he has built in enough flexibility. It feel like Koby has drafted two guys in back to back drafts top 5 that might not be starters long term for this team.
