Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

It’s the rant thread BILL.

But yeah, I expect them to not be idiots going forward.

They have been idiots the entire playoffs.

I'm afraid how we won against Toronto had the opposite effect. Not "oh shit we have to wake up and play hard," but "hey we just turned it on for a half and won easily, let's do that."

Blaming Harden is short sighted. His errors were only amplified bc of horrific coaching. This game is on Kenny Atkinson.

Kenny is abysmal and lost the game but Harden has been absolute trash. and deserves to be eviscerated. You cannot give up on the order of ten possessions a game in the playoffs.

Where are all the JB Bickerstaff bashers who wanted Him fired in Cleveland? Cavz will regret this
Lots to unpack here...

I Bet the JB Bickerstaff Bash Bois won't bitch about Bryant Balling like a Butthole.

Where are all the JB Bickerstaff bashers who wanted Him fired in Cleveland? Cavz will regret this firing as Browns did when Modell fired Bellicheck . Bickerstaff took over a bad Pistons team a couple years ago and now has built a better team than the Cavaliers are now in a short time.

He's not good. But he has the team that fits him. Kenny is worse.

I thought outside of Harden they played hard to start and in spurts throughout, just dumb. That second quarter where they kept stringing together stops only to give it back and on top of it the buzzer beaters…just pure jank, but you can see a path for Keon to settle in.

KA lineups were malpractice. But at the end of the day we have 3 or maybe 4 of the best 5 players in the series and should be able to win.

he’s gotten the benefit of a billion lottery picks AND horrifically bad predecessors that leave him a locker room willing to listen.

he’s a fun coach but doesn’t match our team’s personality. Kenny…kind of does

Sorry, but JB still not a good coach. He's not responsible for Harden's turnovers. We saw the same thing in the Raptors series. He's not responsible for the free throw disparity. We saw that in the Raptors series as well. He's not responsible for Atkinson's decision to pull Allen in the last 4 minutes.

If you want to tell me that he's a better coach than Atkinson, who has been costing his team winnable games all season, I won't argue, but Atkinson got friggin out coached by Darko and that's some embarrassing shit.

Coaches get out-gamed too, and I don't know that Darko is responsible for Barrett's miracle shot either. I'm low on KA in game for now, and hated Game 1.

I'm also really high on his development chops and he should get some credit for Mobley and Tyson (and next year, Proctor and Qwan). As much as he's been up and down I think the faith they've placed in Evan is paying dividends.

Hire Thibs and I think you gain on the in-game front and lose on the development / relationship front a little. Feels like it would be a problem swap following the JB fire

I'm done with Atkinson's smartest guy in the room shtick. I really am. If you can't get stops or rebounds without both of Allen and Mobley on the floor against who the Pistons have out there, put them both in.

As far as development, I'm not convinced that Mobley is that much further along than where he was in the Celtics series. I think there's actually been some regression on the defensive end. I'm seeing a lot of K. Love contests, where he puts his arm up too late impact the shot, from him. He got zero votes for DPOY after winning it.

Yeah, I'm not going to argue Mobley for the zillionth time, but I think he's meeting the moment on offense under real pressure vs. the Boston series in which we were very much playing for pride only, especially after Game 3 and Mitchell going down to injury, and I thought his defense was good enough yesterday especially when paired with JA and able to help on Duren.

Agree on the KA schtick, it is tiring. It may work in the end, but I don't love it. I just don't think anyone on the roster is playing super well, and that generally tends to fall on the HC! I'm not sure if that's on the lineup choices, overall cohesion, Harden doing a little bit of a Kenny overthink / chillmode Lebron on offense, or Kenny.

Mobley was bad without Allen last night. He finished -18 and was the worst of all starters. The Cavs were rolling with Allen until Cade got Wade screened off and/or turned the corner, Allen helped, and Cade dumped it to Duran for an easy dunk. Why the response to that was to sit Allen is borderline inexplicable. If the other team isn't offensively talented enough to score with both Allen and Mobley on the floor, than put them both out there to close the friggin game.

It's the second series of this bullshit. It's not like Merrill was on a heater (he was out), or the Cavs were down big, or there was some other justifiable trade off. Dean Wade scored 5 points last night. Put Mobley on Cade the last five minutes. If they screen with Duran, have Allen switch. If they screen with a guard or Harris, trap Cade. A Harden/Mobley trap isn't any place Cade is going to want to be. The only reason for all of this not already in place is because Atkinson never intended on closing with Allen.
