There were rumors his career never took off because he was incredibly abusive towards coaches and teammates.
One story goes as follows:
His teammates were conducting a shooting drill during practice that did not involve a defender. Throughout the drill, he systematically blocked or stole the ball from every single player each time they tried to get a shot off. Initially, the shooting coach tried to incorporate it into the drill. But once the coach asked him to back off he refused to do it and continued to play defense on guys during what was supposed to be a simple one dribble and pop drill. The guys who participated were really uncomfortable as you can assume.
That night they had a team dinner. Throughout the dinner, Brent was sticking his hand between players forks and their meals and getting in their faces to taunt them.
This eventually lead to Brent being kicked out of the restaurant and ultimately off of this team.
