Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's medical use only, and only for certain specific conditions.

Yeah, but they were reviewing being a Browns/Bengals fan as an acceptable condition. Imagine how much worse it must be to actually play for the Browns. :chuckle:

The state of Ohio currently has no way for testing for marijuana. Current tests only show presence of thc, not quantity. Hemp, 100% legal has like .5% thc, so existing tests can't distinguish between hemp and devil weed. To prove its cannabis, they have to send it to an outside lab and it's very expensive. Therefore, almost all municipalities in Ohio (and other states where hemp has been legalized) have stopped prosecution of small scale pot possession. To be busted for weed now, you need to be part of some big distribution ring. Or they really hate you.
Not saying I want to drive around all Cheech and Chong style, but the times are changing. People and especially police have a hard time of letting go of old ways, but its happening. If anyone should be smoking grass, its Kareem Hunt. The NFL is rumored to be open to changing its policy in this way. Maybe next contract.

It's so stupid that this is even a thing. If Hunt played for the Lions and was driving in Michigan, none of this would be happening.

He wasn't charged. It is possible other items in the backpack collaborated Hunt's story.

Folks, cops do not give a shit if you have a tiny-ass bag of weed. They only care if it was the pretense they used when they searched your car and found (1) a lot more weed, (2) harder shit, (3) guns you're not supposed to have, etc., or (4) they use it to connect you to something/someone else. Then they care. Otherwise, as others have pointed out, it's not worth the cops' time or the municipality's money. And if you're a player for the Browns and you're in Cleveland...I mean, they do NOT want to be the department that charged Hunt for something so petty. None of that has anything to do with our state's (way behind the times) marijuana laws.

The NFL is another matter, though. Safe bet bullshit will ensue.

I hope the Browns resist the pressure to cut him. (I'm sure Terry Pluto will have a long "Talking to Myself" column about it.) We just got a coach that knows how to use the guy. Chubb-Hunt should be devastating.

Kitchens didn't use those sets with Chubb and Hunt enough. They're incredible together and I hope Stefanski gets a chance to take advantage of that.

I'm interested in seeing how the new FO views the current cap situation and where guys like Hunt, Higgins, Randall, and Schobert stand with the team.

Out of that group, I think Hunt's specific skillset is hard to replace and investing more into RB seems to be the new trend. Rather keep Hunt and Schobert, Hunt adds more to this offense than Higgins.

The Browns would be unwise to cut a guy over something so trivial.

Cannabis is going to be legal across the nation in the near future. He was caught with a small amount. He didn't hurt someone else.

The NFL may act but it will be short if any suspension.

Does it say why he was pulled over in the first place outside of being a young black guy in a nice car?

Also, they say it was minute amounts of weed, any idea how the cop, not a dog smelled such small amounts?

The whole pull over is suspect, yet Hunt who wasnt charged with anything is taking the heat.

He was going 77 in a 60 according to the report.

I haven't had much experience with weed, but I'm guessing that if it was in the car there's a good chance it had been smoked in there previously. And like smoking anything in a car, it's gonna leave a pretty strong odor in the upholstery and everything.
I really think both parties' stories are pretty believable in this case. Cops pulled over a speeding car that did smell like weed. It wasn't Kareem's car and his brother smokes weed in it

I have a ton of experience with weed, he might of smoked it in the car, or just transported it. The Brother probably has his card and might have smoked it, but for sure transported it in the car, who knows if he smoked it, i wouldnt smoke in my mom's car personally, but he might of.

Personally, I just have very little patience for guys who are already on a short leash fucking up like this. If this were his first issue, whatever, but is this dude really dumb enough to drive around with weed in his car when he is fresh off an eight game suspension for multiple bar fights?

Just strikes me as a guy who isn't going to learn from his mistakes and will probably keep making them, and you just can't rely on guys like that, as Browns fans should know all too well considering we dealt with a guy like that for years. Can we really trust Hunt as our backup RB? Or is he going to get suspended again and leave us giving carries to scrubs like Hilliard if Chubb were to get hurt or needs a breather?

I think that we need to draft a RB in this draft.

He was speeding, holy crap get over it. There was so little weed that they aren't charging him, and i bet it was the brothers? Why else would the police believe him, his brother probably has a medical card.

This is a speeding ticket with a copy who tried so hard to find something all he could find was the weed that fell out of his brother's bowl when he borrowed the car
