Lindor trade ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Braves with Pache or Waters being the headliner would make a ton of sense.

If the Dodgers don't win it all, maybe they get more aggressive and are willing to part with Lux

Lindor and Hand to Philly for Alec Bohm would be incredible, although I highly doubt they're trading him especially for 2 guys on 1 year deals. There may be a trade in there somewhere though with their awful bullpen and 2 disappointing seasons to start the Bryce Harper era

The Braves and Waters is where I am starting

Dont sleep on the Mets being a player in the Lindor chase.

I really believe the change in Mets ownership with have a major impact on the FA market. I also believe the Mets would like to have the opportunity to lock up Lindor BEFORE he gets to free agency (similar to MBetts w/ LADodgers)..

waters was a fave here for 2.5 years of clev - along with jiminez and robert and lux and gavin - instead we got 2nd tier prospects and a 3rd string catcher - hard to believe lindor will bring what clevinger couldnt

Maybe, maybe not. You don't know until you open the lines of communication. I'm just thinking CF has been a revolving door of mostly supbar players since Grady. I want somebody I know I can put out there for the next 5-6 years.

I really think the Mets desire for NYC headlines can be exploited, particularly if the Yankees have a deep playoff run.

The list of "suitors" for the services of Francisco Lindor, at least from the fans' perspective, has grown to include:

The Atlanta Braves: Have Dansby Swanson at SS as a potential starting point on a return along with a pair of minor league OF'ers and a BUNCH of high end arms that could become available.. starting with Kyle Muller..

The New York Mets: Have their SS spot wide open and have several motivating circumstances to acquire a true star.. The names are less than convincing.. at least so far.., imho..

The New York Yankees: Have a pair of disappointing defenders in catcher Gary Sanchez and SS Gleyber Torrez. The Yankees have several interesting prospect..but, caveat emptor ! The Yankees would be thrilled to reunite Frankie with Gio.. With any deal with these guys, a massive over pay is how it has to start..otherwise.. the NYY's can go screw themselves..

The Boston Red Sox: Have Xander Bogaerts are their SS, but would likely be willing to have Xander at 3B or 2B to allow the acquisition of a star of Lindor's quality. Being under the maximum salary threshhold for the first time in forever also opens the Sawx wallet. The Red Sox prospects are hard to gauge.. especially considering the level of hype they get.. In general.. these guys should only be considered in a three team deal with a club that has more and more obvious young near mlb ready talent..

Chicago Cubs: have Javy Baez coming off a poor season..but they know these two guys can and will gel.. they're very close and the Cubs FO love the idea of a great offense.. The Cubs farm system & ML roster is ripe with a number potential trade targets.

The Cincinnati Reds: have a raw rookie as their starting SS and a huge dilemma.. Do they resign Bauer & can he be a lure to bring in a guy like Lindor?. The Reds have a strong farm system and several possible trade targets the Indians may have an interest in. The Reds would be a PRIME example of a David Price/Mookie Betts kind of deal..

The team that hasn't been mentioned.. and the one that I like as a match is Seattle. The Mariners have an abundance of talent in the area the Indians have a strong interest in,.. but nothing that's close to ready or has proven to be ready for 2021 at SS. JP Crawford, while young, hasn't delivered. The Mariners have Phil Ervin and Braden Bishop around their young ROY candidate Kyle Lewis. Add in the return of Mitch Hanniger and two/three very highly regarded OF prospects in Taylor Trammel, Julio Rodriguez and Jarred Kelenic & the Seattle OF is over flowing. A deal with the Mariners is more likely as Jerry DiPoto is unrelenting when it comes to MAKING DEALS...

Other teams will be of interest.. but, this group of youngsters in the PacNW could bring a huge improvement to the Indians OF..

Thoughts?>.

I love all these grand trade ideas; would be amazing if the Tribe x could pull any of them off. The problem is, this FO loves 3 quarters for a dollar trades, so the odds of any of these are low.

@Gson

I actually like the Mets at the moment since the owner will wanna make a splash and is liking willing to extend Lindor to the Betts/Harper type of deal.

Now who to get from the mets... thats the question mark...

J.D. Davis and Dominic Smith are both DH type of guys who can hit.

Jeff McNeil though 100% would be my personal target, but I feel he is worth more in a trade than the other two even though he is older.

If we can get a deal done around McNeil for Lindor, then in a sense, we would kind of be looking at maybe this type of trade..

Lindor for McNeil, CF Crow-Armstrong (or RHP Allan), RHP Josh Wolf (Or OF Isaiah Greene) then C/OF Endy Rodriguez and C Ali Sanchez.

Mets don't have a lot of near MLB ready prospects. So in my trade scenario, I got two of their top 10 prospects (1 OF and 1 SP) and 2 catching prospects (Endy can play OF as well, Ali profiles close to Perez)

Just read yesterday that the Mets owner is focusing on beefing up their analytics department. He's from Wall Street so he's well versed in analytics. I'm not certain but I would guess that analytics argues against large long term contracts and trading multiple quality young players for one expensive veteran.

On the whole I think this is a very, very, bad winter to be trying to trade Lindor. My expectations are very much in check. I suggest we be prepared to be disappointed.

He may be, but at the same time from a business stand point, I went and got Lindor and put money into a long term contract for him. You cannot make a bigger splash towards the fans than doing a move like that.

I thought of Toronto, too, but they have Bichette at SS.

Bichette can play 2B as well, Biggio knows how to play OF, 1B and 3B. His best position is 2B, but adding Lindor to the lineup, i am sure the guys would be alright with moving to other positions.
