Lindor trade ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Assuming every one drafted with the Indians first position player pick from 2016 onward have yet to fully display what they're going to become, can see the errors of their ways.. Of course.. this is when you look at the draft results after the fact.. Using the 2009 onward draft classes.. it's pretty easy to say:

2009 Indians take Alex White @ # 15, overall.. but should have taken Mike Trout! Every team.. every single one should have..

2010 After taking Drew Pomeranz at # 5, only Christian Yelich late in the first round might have been a better choice.. might not.. Pomeranz's healthy issues & subsequent trade didn't really allow him realize being a long time ML'er with the Indians..

2011 Lindor at #8 was the right pick.. but, taking Dillon Howard @ # 67 when the Indians could have taken James McCann (# 76) would have solved the Indians catching issues..

2012 Naquin @ # 15 what a complete fail.. Giolito, Seagar, Wacha, Stroman, Lewis Brinson, Piscotty and or Joey Gallo all would have been better.. This was a POOR decision.. very poor... being cute with the $$$ was the cause.. and CLEFO FAILED !!

2013 Clint Frazier at # 5 was the pick.. Hopefully he can be returned via trade.. IDK, we'll see. .but after Frazier.. the Indians next pick was Dace "the Ace" Kime @ # 79.. Dace sucked.. The indians would have been WAY better to select Tyler O'Neil @ # 85

2014 Was Brad Zimmer @ # 21.. Wouldn't the Indians have been WAY better if they picked Matt Chapman @ # 25?

2015 Was Brady Aiken @ #17..was a "value" pick with a bum wing.. that never became anywhere close to what was thoughts.. Ke'Bryan Hayes or Walker Buehler or Mike Soroka all have proven to be vastly superior..

As usual.. there are always personnel decisions that can be second guessed.. Some were a matter of health.. some were a matter of the guy just plain sucked.. Anyone having a better crystal ball could sell it for an eight figure return to one of 30 ML clubs... And they'd pay for it HAPPILY !..

Thoughts?..
I think playing the what if game is tiring.

Here is perhaps the "worst" deal I've seen posted by fans of teams trying not to be homers but failing miserably:

Rider28: Frazier, Garcia, Voit for Lindor, Carrasco, Nolan Jones, and Clase..

He further justifies the "deal" as Frazier would be the best player in the deal so the Yankees would expect the most in return. The addition of Clase is good for the Indians because they have Karinchak already as their closer.. The only thing worthwhile about this deal is the $ 33 MM reduction in salary.. otherwise.. HARD PASS..

Thoughts on the LAD rumor that has them interested in Lindor? I don't get it. Lindor vrs Seager, stats in the same 'ballpark', with Lindor slightly better. However, Seager slots in real well at #2 behind Betts.....

The idea would be to have both in the infield for a year (with one moving to second or third base) since that makes the team better. Then, the Dodgers can pick which one they want to make the big push to re-sign.

Or, they feel they'd have a better chance at resigning Lindor as they did Betts.

Rosenthal reports Reds are gauging trade interest in Gray - great contract 10, 10, 12 mil option - wont be signing bauer -- lower payroll

thus, prolly wont be emptying out their farm system for an expensive shortstop for a year

There will be about six or seven or even more "Gray's" or "Snell's" that will be "listened to" about possible trades.. Teams have no choice but to look at maximizing resources while remaining competitive.. Selling off their most expensive pieces for peanut priced blue chip talent is the way of MLB.. It's been going on since the reserve clause was over turned..

Cincinnati is on the verge of competing in a division that is gettable. Their principle competitors are up against their core talent becoming free agents.. The 2021 season is the beginning of a very narrow window for the Reds.. Two years from now.. that won't be the case.. Cincinnati's most glaring weakness.. is their SS.. Freddie Galvis did an admirable job in 2020.. but, he's a FA.. Jose Israel Garcia, the heir apparent, proved in 2020 that he is clearly not ready to take over the spot.. While Lindor in trade would be a HUGE correction, he isn't the only game in town for the Reds.. he's just the best..

If we knew what "getting desperate" looked like..we might be able to discern why?..
Why is they play in the same town as the Yankees. They will want to make a splash with new ownership. Lindor wants bright lights big city. He certainly did not want Cleve. Never once said he wanted to remain a Indian. Just going to stroll out of town saying “hey they didn’t want to pay me” when he knows damn well they couldn’t

He said..if they pay him.. he would prefer to stay.. with the full understanding that the payroll number he wanted was unrealistic for this ownership.. It's the world we live in.. & it has nothing to do with the ownership being cheap.. they just don't have a business that can support that kind of payroll..
