Lindor trade ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@CDAV45

Indians will be after prospects, Green will be 30 in 21 and due for Arbitration.

Of we get prospects from the Yankees, who would you want?

I can't imagine a Spring 2021 announcement that the US is one, virus-free and two, that disposal incomes are back at pre-pandemic levels. My guess is that we'll trade Lindor pre-season for whatever we can get. The #1 rule in business is said to be "Stay in business!" So, getting out from under contracts that can be funded only with debt has to be the order of the day.

Not interested in prospects and the Indians won't be either. They are not in rebuild mode and they intend to remain competitive. If they are trading Lindor for prospects then they need to do a full rebuild so you can go ahead and trade Ramirez and Bieber too. Trading for prospects that aren't ready to be called up is nothing short of stupid when this system is already full of that type.

Green is a damn good reliever and he's going to get a raise via arbitration. He may get as much as what..........$3.5M? I'd gladly pay him that because he's worth much more.

The US has never been "virus free" so hopefully the anxiety of another virus will have passed and a vaccine is available. I won't get into that because it will probably spur political banter and I'm not interested in that.

I do agree that Lindor will be traded in the offseason. How much leverage the Indians have is unknown.

Indians aren't in a win now in 21, they are in a retool season, so they will want talent (aka the Torres, Frazier, Andujar) a top prospect, then either a talent (like Green) or a couple prospects. Yankees are in a win now mode, trading Green from their perspective doesnt make much sense without an internal replacement.

Yankees will only offer the talent plus prospects scenario at the moment unless it was a talent that was blocked. They arent trading a main cog in the bullpen with team control.

I think we may be misunderstanding each other. Getting back any of Torres, Frazier, or Andujar is what I expect. I thought that you were inferring that they will want prospects not yet called up. Even lower level, highly rated prospects is what I understood you to be saying.

I think both Frazier and Andujar can be had for Lindor, and here's why. Both have displayed the potential to have potent offensive skills, but they also have defensive warts and they are blocked. I only expect Green in return if one of our C is sent with Lindor. I don't think the Yankees will part with Torres. They'll move him to 2B where the demands of SS don't diminish his value.

Clint Frazier is arbitration eligible this offseason.... that's gonna be a no-go for the Tribe if history is any indication

A pre-arb guy is gonna be the headliner.... I'd probably guarantee it

Fair point, but Frazier won't be getting a big raise. He has 4 yrs of control and the money he makes will depend upon his performance. I'd say the Indians' history with arb players is pretty darn good.

Wonder if a team like Miami might make a surprise move for Frankie?

Went to HS in Florida, they're a playoff team with no star players and have more than enough prospect capital to put together a very enticing package. Obviously don't know if they have the financial means to even have a shot at keeping him.

Just thinking out loud....

I am not really sure of the financial ability of Jeter and company. I am not sure how big his investors are, but that being stated, you would think bringing in Lindor would bring in a lot of fans.

If the Dodgers get bounced again, do they get more aggressive in a possible Lindor trade?
Both behemoths of baseball will battle for bats & arms in the coming off season. These two teams do not have the uncertainty of revenue streams and can flex their financial muscle...

We can only hope.

I’m not sure the Dodgers are a Lindor away from winning a World Series. I’m curious to see how he performs on a contender in big spots on big stages.

The team I’d actually like to see Lindor play for is the Rockies.
