Andy Martino of SNY started what I'll call a "take worthy of RCF"... The article was posted after the Yankees demise in game five of the ALCS.. (Link: https://sny.tv/articles/solution-to...gio-urshela-move-gleyber-torres-to-third-base )
The relevant statement for this posting involves what the NYY's are going to do with their below average (Outs Above Average) spots in their infield.. It starts with the NYY's # 1 priority, resigning DJ LeMahieu..
Here is the comment: "... Then we realize that the Yanks could tighten their defense by re-signing LeMahieu to play second base, moving Torres to third base, trading Gio Urshela and bringing in a shortstop like Andrelton Simmons or Brandon Crawford .." Instead of either one of these guys, how about Lindor?.. And sure.. we'll start with Gio and Red Thunder coming back where they belong on the North Coast.. perhaps another name or two.. Then move JRam to 2B.. Gio back at 3B.. and play Chang at SS or another deal.. it would save about $ 18 - 20 MM in payroll..
Thoughts?..
Gio, Frazier and a prospect? Sounds like a winner.
