Zach Lowe's rankings of "League Pass" teams (basically: interest and watchability of teams) ranks my home team, the Wizards, the worst in the league and the Cavaliers just one slot above. That kind of sucks.

Here he is on the Cavaliers:

29. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (19.5)

One of my random vivid memories from last season: watching from courtside on March 12 in Philadelphia as Collin Sexton kept the Cavs -- without Kevin Love -- close against a full-strength Philly team acting as if that game was beneath it.

I fell a little in love with Sexton that night. He sensed Philly's disdain. It fueled him. He went at Joel Embiid and talked trash, chin-to-chest, during dead balls. He demanded the ball on every fourth-quarter possession, and produced: 26 points on 11-of-20 shooting.

He also had one assist. A Sexton-Darius Garland backcourt is going to chuck wacky shots as open teammates scream for the ball. At least Jordan Clarkson realized halfway through last season that passing is legal!

But Sexton has something you can't teach -- a little Westbrookian bravado that, if channeled the right way, can lift everyone around him.

Love will bring playmaking style and overall respectability unless and until the Cavs trade him. He has a nice pass-and-cut chemistry with Cedi Osman. Larry Nance Jr. is vowing to expand his perimeter game. Perhaps we will see one nostalgic glimpse of the Matthew Dellavedova-Tristan Thompson lob connection. If Kevin Porter Jr. sticks in the rotation, this ranking might look foolish.

29th? Wow. That completely changes my view on the NBA.

I guess I'll be watching 28 teams but Cavs ain't one.

Lakers don't exist.

I don't hate Lebron or the Lakers. They aren't my team, but Lebron gave us 11 years and a championship, the one and only for the city in over 11, but probably not the place to go into that. I mean I left Cleveland, hopefully you don't think I am a sell out or refuse to like me because I chose to live in Phoenix over Cleveland.

What the heck are you talking about..?

I just saved face as I mistyped 29, or did I really forget that there were 30 teams, or maybe i'm just dumb af? you will never know.

I love you

I think it's easy to put the Cavs so low because everyone knows that we have to be in the bottom 10 to keep our draft pick. Truly bottom 6 so that the lottery doesn't royally screw us.

The talent of the team might be better than that but they probably won't look to try to win unless New Orleans hands our pick back.

Why is Lowe suggesting Kevin Porter Jr is the difference maker on our team? Suggesting that if KPJ stays in the rotation this ranking could be foolish. I'm super high on KPJ and have been since before the draft. But he's raw and not really ready to be a impact player yet.

This article isn’t about being high on KPJ. It’s about being Lowe on him.

@Lee

It's gonna be more fun than that. Really surprised he didn't mention Beilein.

It's going to fun for our fan base to watch but from a nba league pass prospective our team won't be one that a random fan will tune into to watch a fun competitive game. This is just one of those weird rankings that doesn't mean much other than the people who pay for league pass and are a NBA superfan. Basically Zach Lowe says on his podcast that he rarely watches regular TV especially during the NBA season. He will go home after talking and writing about the NBA at work all day and relax by watching random NBA games on league pass. Like some of us will channel surf or go thru Netflix to find something to watch, Zach Lowe will go thru NBA games on league pass instead.

All this article did for me is cement my opinion that Lowe is a mediocre NBA writer at best. Lots of glaring omissions from a good amount of the teams.

Zach Lowe is really good on his podcast and is a big picture kind of nba writer. He doesn't have a team or is in love with a certain player so he isn't annoying to listen to. He is well connected and has good inside info but isn't a beat writer. He knows enough that he can have good conversations with other national NBA writer and beat writer.

I honestly will say I rarely read anything Lowe writes but will listen to his podcast fairly regularly. He might be the best NBA podcaster that ESPN has.

I agree. I really like his podcasts, but I feel like he just isn't a very gifted writer.
