I thought Doncic had a few issues with his body as far as flexibility, hip and alignments goes before he was drafted. It really looks like they are putting a ridiculous emphasize on strengthening his hips and glutes as well as stretching/massaging his hip flexors and hamstrings. Obviously they also know that focusing on his hip will unlock his full potential as it will allow him to be an overall much better athlete and defender.

I wanna see Cedi do that sort of workout(P3) and really focus on improving his core and hip strength...because Cedi's natural athletic ability(vertical leap not withstanding) since young age was off the charts, so building on that should be great. I think bulking too fast in the upper body can be risky; there should be a balance.

He literally had no free time in the off season, so I doubt he had the time to work on these sort of things. Hopefully he will have more time to work individually with trainers like that in the next few years. It's tough being a european nba player...for real.

Korver at 6:00 btw.

Pretty different body types between Cedi and Doncic. Even though Cedi's a hair bigger (iirc) in terms of height/wingspan, his optimal weight is probably around 220-225 pounds tops. Doncic on the other hand could probably add muscle all the way to 245 or 250. Doncic will never have a quickness advantage on the perimeter, but if he fills out his frame he'll simply be too big and strong for most wings to handle.

Wasn't trying to compare their body types lol

Working on the core and hip mobility and strength is always good.

Oh yeah, I was mostly responding to the part about bulking too fast in the upper body being risky. Obviously beyond a certain point additional upper body bulk is going to be bad for all players, but some guys like Doncic naturally have a frame that can support more upper body bulk than guys like Cedi.

Yes. That's why I dont love it for Cedi right now to bulk too much and why you should consider a persons frame.

Bulking too much too soon was the demise of many European players.

Doncic is in good hands though.

How would a Doncic, Cedi and Zizic lineup do?

Who would you surround them with and how would you choose to run the offense and defense?

“Overseas I saw him a little, and I played against him in some pickup games [last week],” J.J. Barea said. “He’s bigger than I thought he was. He knows the game. He’s a rookie, but he’s a pro rookie, if you know what I mean.”

“You can tell it in one pickup game, the difference between a college player and a player who has had pro experience. In college, coaches just say, ‘Play hard, play hard.’ Over there [in Europe], you’ve got to know how to play — especially when you have the ball in his hands the whole time.”

“They don’t know him,” Barea said. “He’s not quick, but he’s going to play at a good pace, always under control. He’s tall and can pass over people. He’s a great passer. And he can shoot it, too, so you’ve got to guard him.”

Off of what I've seen over the last two days," Carlisle said last week, "anybody who doesn't jump on season tickets now is going to sorely regret it later, that's all I'll say."

If I'm adding two roleplayers, DeMarre Carroll and PJ Tucker. They add size, toughness, and veteran experience on defense, good floor spacing glue guys on offense.

If I'm adding two (complimentary) stars, Jrue Holiday and Al Horford. You again have a big, versatile defensive lineup with a healthy dose of veteran experience, and on offense you add a lot of IQ and another solid ballhandler/initiator in Jrue.

I have seen a lot of games of him in Europe. Man he is really good, PnR is fantastic, has really high IQ for great passes. Athletism will be a problem no doubt, but on offense he too skilled to fail.

Lol...I've been a fan of "fat Doncic" for a long time, and I'm glad the Mavs aren't trying to make him slim down into a toothpick. I think he'll thrive at PF.

So how tall is he? shorter than Cedi? his arms also look shorter.

But...he plays say bigger than Cedi so im not sure. Its not just the size; it seems like he shoots over defenders with ease. I remember when he backed down Porzingis in the Eurobasket and shot a hook shot over him with great seperation.
