We're not too far off from some MACtion, so I figured I'd kick it off with my own predictions.

MAC Championship

Bowling Green over Toledo - Bowling Green has an exciting, up-tempo offense, an aggressive defense, and brings back enough key players to make them my favorite to win in Detroit. Coming off of a 10-4 season highlighted by their trouncing of Jordan Lynch and NIU in the Title Game, the Falcons will come into 2014 with a ton of confidence.

Surprise Team

Akron - I think they go 7-5, which may not seem great but sure looks nice after three consecutive seasons of 1-11 in 2010, 2011, and 2012. They went 5-7 last year, almost taking one in Michigan early in the year (and I still say they got screwed). They won 4 of their last 5 last season, ending the year strong. I like their schedule and think they'll not only surprise in the MAC, but come away with a victory either at Penn State or in Pittsburgh.

Bowl Teams

Bowling Green, Toledo, Ohio, Akron, Northern Illinois, and Ball State

Here's the issue with BG; We play Indiana at home and Wisconsin on the toad in back to back weeks. Can we keep enough morale after getting killed?

You don't think they can hang with Indiana? I know the Hoosiers drilled them last year but you never know.

Regardless, they'll get UMass to kick off their MAC schedule so they should be able to start conference play on a high note.

They did.

Maybe they can surprise them? We hung in with Mississppi State last year, lost by a point and honestly, had Babers been our coach, probably would have wonthat game. Clawson was very, very conservative when he really shouldn't have been.

At reciever, though, BG is absolutely stacked even with Gallon out for the season again. A few great recruits, a big transfer from Baylor who'll have to sit out, and Gerigh Dieter who I honestly dont think can be covered by any CB in the Mac. He's 6'3 215 and runs a 4.5 40. Too big, too fast, too physical.

Nice to see some fellow MAC football fans in here, specifically BGSU Falcons. I plan on going to the BG-IU game (even though it's a time conflict with the Ohio St-Kent St game). Also, Toledo is hosting Missouri this year the second week of the season. It's not every day an SEC team comes to MAC country, let alone an SEC team that was in their conference championship game last year, so being in the area I would like to check that one out.

It would be nice if BG continued to be good. I watched the MAC championship at a bar in Charlotte last year with some friends when they massacred NIU. It was awesome. I'm planning to head up there at some point this fall and catch a game with my buddy and former roommate who got a job with the school after graduation.

MAC football has grown on me (Go Zips). Should be another exciting season. I hope everyone keeps the discussion strong, because there is nowhere to really talk about the conference.

I love the MAC. Good, quality schools all around and some pretty fun rivalries. Looking forward to this season!

go to school at BG and man that food is so good coming home from the bars
Looks like I'll probably be going to the Western Michigan game in October. Should be a fun time.

Looking forward to eating some Mister Spot's again. :chuckles:

Yeah man. Philly cheese steak and waffle fries with a side of melted cheese for dipping. Horrible for you but absolutely incredible even when sober.

Lol Mister Spots cheesesteaks and waffle fries after the bars was the best... until the next morning :( Myles Pizza was also great, as long as you could accept getting 3rd degree burns on the roof of your mouth bc you were too drunk to care to wait for the pizza to cool down.

I don't know when the last time some of you guys have visited but SO much has changed. It's kind of depressing actually.

Been a year or two. What has changed? The only big difference I remember seeing was that new Stone's Throw place was open where B-Dubs used to be, and was a pretty awesome new bar.

Stones Throw is cool.. they usually have some really good craft beer options. BDubs got moved up near the 75 exits.

Well, Ziggy's is no longer there. It's now a hookah bar. SkyBar is no more, which used to be a hot spot my first couple years there... it's now a bar called "Liquid" which I haven't checked out. Kami's is now called "Shots Inc." or something lame like that. They were building a plaza around that area of Taco Bell and what used to be Ziggy's last I was there a few months ago. That liquor store (the only one in BG) up near the highway no longer has a liquor license. Kroger has it now. So, that liquor store is now primarily a craft beer and wine shop. They do have some rotating taps to fill up growlers which is cool, but how many college students can afford all that? Then some other minor changes (Dave's Cosmic Subs now is Vito's Pizza, some pipe shop turned into a cookie place). There are probably some other small things I'm missing, but those are the main ones.
