Magic Number - 1 for Division ... Minni Eliminated ... Our Elimination of #2 seed is 2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here's how the schedules for both teams line up after the big series starting tomorrow...

Cleveland
3 @ Rangers
3 vs Rays
6 vs Royals

Chicago
3 vs Tigers
3 @ Twins
3 @ Padres
3 vs Twins

Lotta jetting around for the White Sox, whereas once we're home, we're home.

Statistically the White Sox are favored in the first two games (game 1 by a large margin) and we are slight favorites in the 3rd. So I expect us to be swept

Has it been discussed why we end with 6 at home vs the Royals? Is that the result of early season rainouts or just a flaw in the schedule?

It's because of the lockout. Those games that got canceled the first week, got added onto the end of the season.

we are at the last 100 meters of the marathon. its clear in front. all we gotta do is get to the line.

Let us not forget though, there are also hurdles and water hazards in this here steeplechase to the playoff finish line tape.

Not exactly a flaw. It is just a quirk..

.. MLB, in their infinite wisdom didn't see the need to split up the ending six straight especially considering the "two also rans" of the AL Central facing each other would allow them to fight each to the death about who can stay out of the cellar in the division..

oooops..

Find a way to win 2/3 and I think that will basically do it.

We’d have a 5 game lead with 12 left plus the tiebreaker so basically a 6 game lead.

Even if we went 2-10 the White Sox would have to still go 8-4.

And it’s likely we probably do at least 5-7 leaving the White Sox having to basically
Play perfect ball.

Baseball is flukey as hell though.

I think it’ essentially be a 6 game lead given that in that scenario we have the tiebreaker of H2H if we did tie.

Of course shit can hit the fan really quickly, but as of now, if we win 9 of our next 14 games, we clinch the division even if Chicago wins out! Five games ahead of the White Sox!!
