So I read a theory elsewhere that I'm a fan of. It was that we'll come to find that the TVA is controlled by a Loki variant.
That's what I assumed as well.

I feel all the direct guesses, like Kang, are going to fizzle out like every other on-the-nose guess we've had so far in the MCU.

But... I think it's a bad idea. Wouldn't the "God of Chaos and Mischief" want more of him in the Universe? More Loki equals more chaos and more mischief.

The Kang speculation is at least substantiated by the fact that we know the character has been cast and he was cast suspiciously early if his first appearance won't be until the Ant-Man / Wasp sequel.

I edited my previous post.

Honestly, I think they're going to keep us guessing and swinging wildly back and forth. If we think it's a Loki, it's not gonna be a Loki.

Maybe it's someone else for the reveal--but Kang comes into the picture and eliminates him, taking that individual's power and positioning himself as a big bad?

Re-watching all the Avenger movies. Finishing up Ultron now.

I really hope that after WandaVision and the upcoming multiverse stuff that they find a way so Quicksilver comes back.

Loki episode 5. Another banger. And so many cool Easter eggs/references. I loved Wandavision. And really enjoyed FATWS. But this series as a whole, and especially episodes 4 & 5, far surpass anything so far done on Disney+/MCU. Going to be very tough to live up to for the some of the other new MCU series on their way. Although that's to be expected I guess since this contains a beloved returning character and a cosmic plot, whereas some of the newer upcoming series are more Earth centered and heavy on introducing new characters.

GLORIOUS PURPOSE!!!

I really hope we see Classic Loki again. Richard E. Grant did an amazing job.

And bravo to the MCU for trolling its own fans by partially confirming the "Loki wasn't really killed by Thanos" theory.

And props to Tom Hiddleston for being able to scream at such an high pitch.

Episode 3 was my favorite (seeing Lamentis-1 being destroyed was some other-worldly CGI) but this was incredible.

And the Loki controlling the TVA has been my working theory since 2nd episode and I think that's what it will (and should) be. Kang works from an MCU viewpoint, setting up future dominos, but not for this series.

I think Loki took one of the Time Stones. He didn't just put that pillar back into place with telekenesis. He reversed time like Dr. Stange did. And though Loki in the comic books can shoot energy beams, we have not yet seen him do it in the MCU and he had every reason to on a couple occasions. A green energy blast would be consistent with having the Time Stone.

It makes perfect sense that Loki took some Infinity Stones when he took back the Tesseract. He knows they still work everywhere but the TVA.

In fact, I think the whole trip to Lamentis is him just trying to get information from Sylvie. And that they can leave whenever. For one, he shouldn't get so drunk, or drunk at all, off a few human drinks. Asgardians and Frost Giants have tremendous tolerances.
Given what old Loki said, this might play out

Thanos Copter lololol
I squealed with delight. The Thanos copter, and Thanos being arrested after being vanquished by Black Cat, is the funniest defeat of a major villain since Luke Cage pummeled Dr. Doom over $50.

There is also a statuary head of the Living Tribunal, Red Skull's helicopter, and did you see Throg in the jar?

Classic Loki is by far the most powerful Loki we've seen:

Energy projection
Casting portals
Perfect illusion casting
Fighting duplicates

He must have spent a 1500 years practicing his magic, and already had a greater command than the other Lokis from eschewing daggers.

One thing that really stood out on this episode, which I haven’t seen anyone mention yet, was the music. My god, it set the tone for the whole show, especially that epic sounding instrumental to start the episode. I already loved that artsy, almost 80’s style theme music they play during the Loki logo, but I can seriously listen to that stuff for hours. It goes perfect with show and makes each episode feel like a movie in itself.
