Hmmm. I prefer not knowing too much going into a film.

I don't want to know everything, but it would be nice to see some basic plot details and perhaps a sense of who the antagonist is / what the struggle of the main characters is. All of these Marvel trailers lately are just an assortment of images lacking in context set to dramatic music and a few lines of dialogue that, out of context, mean nothing to us.

It's not a huge deal when it's a trailer featuring established characters that we already care about, but a few of these newer trailers are for characters that no one knows and it falls flat there. I need a reason to care about the Eternals. Tell me what the fuck this movie is going to be about.

Gotcha. That makes sense. With the movie not coming out until November, have to imagine there is at least one more trailer to come in late summer/early fall that gives up a little more of the basics

Yeah, that does seem to be the Marvel way. The first trailer is straight nonsense and then the second gives you a bit of an idea wtf is going on but not much more. See: Loki.

I'll be honest, I think Eternals is the first movie in a while where I have limited interests. They better have a 2nd movie planned or something because I don't think there is anyway they can even explain that whole story in one movie.

Already in development, along with Avengers 5, Blade reboot, and Fantastic 4. The big Marvel sizzle reel from a month or so back only included the films/shows with a scheduled release target date. Feige has no plans to stop and this stuff is planned out years and years in advance at this point. Pretty insane what has been accomplished and what's on the way. And all with the interconnectivity already built in and planned for. None of these films are just being thrown out there as one offs and then only getting a green light to develop a second one or to tie in to other existing parts of the franchise on a whim.

Too dynamic a cast to just do a one off. Of course, we have to see the film and see which characters are the runaway favorites. Again, with GotG I had zero pre-existing knowledge of them so I couldn't speculate at that time how it'd be cool if most of them showed up in IW/EG. So it is hard to tell know how much we'll clamor for a second Eternals movie or some/all of them popping up in other Marvel entities.

Obviously, as they expand towards 30 and then 40 films plus the shows, we won't won't all be able to sustain equal enthusiasm to every single release, but it's all coming and isn't going to slow down for a long time.

Fiege and Marvel have earned my trust. I'll go and see each and every film they put out even if they don't seem to be as interesting as some of the stuff they've already released. Hell, I watched every prequel and sequel in Star Wars knowing they were going to be trash. I'll go see these no second thoughts.

Yeah, my trust has been completely re-built from the tv series they've put together. Far From Home was great too.

You know they'll tie it in somehow, and even if it's just mediocre by MCU standards, that means it'll be a solid afternoon of bottomless popcorn entertainment.

Any non-spoiler Loki thoughts yet? I’m about to take a mid day work break and watch Ep 1

I just finished it about half an hour ago. Liked it a lot.
Same. Good enough episode in of its self and opened up tons of fun possibilities as to what the series will be and what affect it may have on the entire MCU going forward.

I enjoyed FatWS, but this one is the one I’ve been looking forward to. Though Owen Wilson did a good job so far. Still him but with a quiet confidence and less nervous tics, as necessary for the role.

Loki was outstanding. The animated commercial at the beginning literally made me cheer at home. So, so excited.

So there is a vibe I get from it that I absolutely love. I have an odd comparison for it but some may not know it.

Reminds me heavily of Fallout visually. Absolutely love the aesthetics of the show and the writing was great in Episode 1
