Well...yes and no.

I think it means that any time he did win, like basically every time if we believe Dr Strange, he would likely get pruned because it wasn't a part of the "sacred timeline" at that time. Now it's just one of...65?

I'm more curious why Kang would want the Avengers to win? Kang is gonna be so wild and the next few movies are going to be amazing. Basically, anything to do with Marvel is now officially canon.
Why would Thanos winning necessarily change anything for Kang? Also, even with their power, I am skeptical the TVA could easily take out Thanos before the snap if he has the full gauntlet. Stones don't work at the TVA in their pocket dimension, because the stones only work in their native dimension, but they do work back in the dimension their jack-booted thugs need to get to to prune Thanos. He could prevent any attempt at pruning.

And at full power, Thanos too can see through time. He would see the TVA coming. He could stop them... but it perhaps doesn't matter to Thanos at all so long as his goal is accomplished.

It tend to think that the sacred timeline can operate whether Thanos wins are not. From the perspective of Kang at the end of the timeline, the blip would be like any other catastrophic event in ancient history. Like the Mongol Wars or WWII to us. The universe would recover soon enough. That is if Thanos only kills half the population rather than restarts the entire universe from scratch.

We also saw the statue of the head of the Living Tribunal. Has Kang handicapped other omniscient beings to achieve his ends? Or do they even care?

That has me pretty pumped. Not just for Spiderman or the main storyline here, but for the simple fact little things from their shows or non-mcu marvel movies can be referenced. Even something as little as the train from Spiderman 2 (maybe 3) being in the void.

Give me something from Daredevil (not affleck). Hopefully it atleast ties into the Mile Morales story.

The whole infinity saga has to happen to create the right variant of Loki I'm pretty sure

That also wasn’t Kang in the finale.

It was a variant, who I believe was pruning any timeline that was going to result in a dangerous variant of himself (Kang being one of them).
And is a descendant of Reed Richards?

In the comics, he is. Same name as Reed’s father, Nathaniel.

I’m hoping we get Rama-Tut in the Eternals now as well.

Also, I’m not using spoiler tags because the show was released over 48 hours ago and if you don’t want anything spoiled, you probably shouldn’t be entering the MCU discussion thread.

After the event that Endgame was, I wondered how Marvel was going to continue the success and even take it to another level. Thanos was a legit End Boss, and raising the stakes was going to be difficult. What they are doing with Kang, well damn, this has the possibility of doing just that. And as an added bonus, we may even get to see the return of some additional “retired” MCU actors as different versions. We already know Chris Evans is probably returning for another film.

we are about to see what kind of acting chops that Jonathan Majors has. I love how he portrayed THIS version of Kang, Can’t wait to see how he does with the more “serious” versions like Immortus. I just hope they don’t use different actors for different Kangs.

This version was more likely an amalgamation of Immortus and He Who Remains, considering the original He was never a Kang variant in the comics. Attitude, costume, and being older than the rest fit with Immortus perfectly.

Saw Black Widow in the theater.

It was weird being back in a theater. And costly. Sheesh. $50 for snacks and such for two.

But, I feel BW was a competent MCU film, though lower tier.

The stakes were just not very high. Comedy was forced. Maybe too short of a film.

Villain was laughable. I felt like Natasha should have screamed at the dude "Being the puppet master? Oh no, not the stock market! C'mon, idiot! There are much bigger stakes these days and you're playing the game like its 1995 or something. Loser."

Also, I just could not buy Ray Winstone as Russian, especially since he spent the whole fucking movie dressed like the crime boss from a Guy Ritchie movie. Put some goddamn fur on the guy for fuck's sake. Anything to at least imply he's Russian. Because the accent certainly wasn't doing that.

What I'm most excited about is that Kang is apparently going to be involved right from the start of this phase, whereas Thanos was mostly nonexistent outside of the two Avengers movies where he was the main villain.

It would be some nice story building to have a lot of the heroes tussle with him individually or in small teams and lose, which would further justify the final Avengers level team-up to finally stop him.

Or go for a multiple variants model whereby the kangs team up so the avengers do. As an aside im still concerned about captain marvel; shes just too powerful to make a meaningful battle

I'm sure the Kangs will game-plan her.

Like how Thanos pretty much took Vision and Thor out of the fight early by targeting them first.
